A few recent events have spurred me to crack open my Season 4 boxed set of Enterprise. I'm trying to remember what took me so long.
I haven't finished it all yet, but the experience so far lead me to write
this Powet.TV article about it.
I'm one of the (likely many) Trek fans who dropped out of the series after the first season. I think I caught handfuls of season 2, and almost none of season 3 (really easy to do when there were other shows on I'd rather watch). It was only after a phone call from my dad, insisting that the producer change from Brannon Braga to Manny Coto had made a great difference, did I give the show another shot.
Sadly, ratings still slipped and the show was canned, so we only got a glimpse of what Coto's Enterprise would have been like, but he and the writing crew packed the season as densely with story material as they could. The result is pretty amazing, at least for this Trek fan.
