Setting up the game from the get-go wasn't a problem, but my experience downloading the latest World of Warcraft patch has me very much appreciating this
Penny Arcade strip.
It's true -- you check the connection info on the downloader and you get a very familiar torrent screen. Apparently I've uploaded 32 KB and 48 KB to two complete different strangers. There are constantly new leechers, but it seems like all we're doing is passing around the same quarter-megabyte.
I was also having my usual torrent client running, so I don't like WoW liked that one bit. Sure enough, once I closed it, the bits started trickling in. My entire connection is slow, though. What's up with that?
(for those worried about my immortal soul vis a vis this game, I've only logged in three times during the week I've owned the game. Thank you)
I hit the weight room today. Between that and running, I think the lack of sleep is finally catching up with me. Once it's done downloading I won't even play.
To all of you hanging out in Merrimac this weekend, I'll see ya'll Friday night!
