Lookit Me, I'm a Big Dork

I was watching G4 (WHY!?), and apparently they've already blown through all of Star Trek: The Next Generation, because they were showing the last episode, "All Good Things". I have to admit to getting a little misty-eyed near the end -- not because it was good Trek, but because it was good television. It's hard to believe that it was aired 12 ( Read more... )

Speaking of too late, I have Season 4 of Enterprise in DVD box set form. I know some people have expressed interest, and I'll be in town (Madison) next weekend. So... anyone up for a marathon? Why did you have to say that NOW? Me and Mary have been planning a trek marathon party. Not all of one or something. All who are interested pick one or two episodes and out of those we comprise a list. We have no idea when this will actually occure but...I feel kind of robbed, I didn't even have a chance to post it yet :(. I liked Next Gen ok, but I liked DS9 and Voyager a bit better. I think this might be due to the fact that DS9 isn't all regulation and whatnot, it's intermixed with all these different cultures and stuff, the ship it's self is so different. And the whole Voyager thing being on their own, they don't really play by the rules. I don't know, Next Gen reminds me too much of miltary or something. But I agree that because of it we have some of the best t.v.

I've found that if I use ctrl-tab to switch windows while playing DHM(like, say, to consult an online word-puzzle dictionary) I can't re-enter the game & continue. It leaves a shadow on the desktop or any other window currently up & I have to use ctrl-alt-del to close the program.

P.S. I will have a Lightscribe DVD of REdeath for you when next we meet. Can you still get me Fanboy BeBop?

Ya. I only have it in VCD format, though. I don't know off the top of my head how to convert that into DVD, but I might find a way.

I'll be moving some crap into my new apartment Saturday morning, but I'd be up for some Trek Saturday evening.

Sunday is indeed ok...wait, crap. I just remembered, I'm going to a Bucks game with my dad on Sunday.

Perhaps this weekend isn't so great after all.

You know, I watched that same 2 hours of delightful TV myself. I delayed my viewing of "Perfect Disaster" for it ( ... )

Hmm, very good points!

I liked DS9 a bunch, but I had totally forgotten that I didn't REALLY get into it until the third season or so, when they finally found their space legs. I'm trying to remember back to season 1, and I think they tried to do that ol' formula to little success -- probably had a lot to do with the plot of the entire show being focused on one of those "Gray area" struggles.

Oh, speaking of Trills, that was supposed to be the same species in the ST:TNG you mentioned. I guess when they were testing Dax's makeup they decided that the spots would be far hotter than the funny bumpy forehead -- and they were right.

Enterprise got good when 1) Brannon Braga got his head out of his ass and left the show, wrapping up the lame "Temporal Cold War" storyline at the end of season 3, 2) Manny Coto took over and made the show what it should have been from the beginning... but, alas, too late.
