Good Karma?
I was coming home late last night after watching Heroes and Caddyshack with phil_bond and laviorli. As I was getting off the Whitney exit and noticed an oddly-stopped SUV nearly blocking the exit (it was pretty slick out, so slowing down enough to get around it was kinda tricky). Then I saw a college-aged-looking couple wandering the offramp.
I stopped for them and gave them a ride home, which turned out to be not too far away at an apartment off Gammon. Why not?
At least one of them had been drinking, so I'm not really sure what was up with their car. The girl hopped in the front and kept thanking me profusely, sort of pawing as she did so (so maybe they had both been drinking?). There was lots of interesting smalltalk, like how the other time he'd broken down in Wisconsin and was picked up by a State Senator (whose name escapes me), and dropped him off in Janesville.
Hey! Speaking of Janesville! There's a guy at this new place who used to work for the firm I'm working through. Apparently he had also worked for the same Janesville outfit I was, so when I announced I was taking off for a bit to troubleshoot for them yesterday (because our mutual boss was not around for me to tell) he was like, "oh no, Kim sent you there?" It's nice to know it ISN'T just me...
