Let's talk about sex.
You had me at steampunk inspired sex toys.
So in Mass Effect, your character could become romantically involved with one of your party members. If you were playing male Shepard, you could possibly hook up with the human female in your party, or Liara (an Asari). If you're playing as the female Shepard, you could romance the male human in the group...or Liara*
However in Mass Effect 2, it looks like they allow you to pursue members of the other races, and the ship's doctor has something to say about that...
I'm playing ME1 right now, and it's quite good.
*(The Asari are all female, and can mate with any member of any species or gender. I think whoever designed them was kinda lonely...)
