Hey everybody. It's been a month and a half or so since I posted anything. Things are fantastic.

Here we go:

the fauxhawk is the Australian men's hairstyle of choice. i donned it for one night only.

representing mass. (cape cod t-shirt) at the edge of the kitchen with a post-beach hair tease.

bobbie & i hanging in a surrealist light show enveloping the city / harbour bridge in background.

sunset over newtown, a grassrootsy part of town up the street from my apartment.

in my apartment before going out.

dani and i shakin' it like a polaroid picture on the dance floor.

low-key afternoon jugs up the street.

again, the signs here are so helpful.

my former Australian roommate and still-friend ashley; after a few beers i coerced him to do a raging rendition of the Vegemite theme song, complete with stomps and arm pumps.

swimming in a human-constructed lagoon in airlie beach, queensland.

we spent three days sailing through the great barrier reef's whitsunday islands.

our group.

i got stung but not by the deadly type and it only hurt for a little; made me stronger as a person.

friends kevin, bobbie, and i before SCUBA diving in the reef.

what nice water.

amy, brian, and i relaxing on the deck.

this is the busyness of sydney's bondi beach, which we left behind for spring break.

this is one of our destinations; quite quieter.

yes, that WAS a box filled with nacho chips; here i am seductively finishing one of the remaining leftovers while awaiting the sunset on an abandoned beach; the best of lots of worlds. hi alan.

sometimes kevin and i would fight.

but then we would make peace and walk along more abandoned beaches with a VB.

blurried but relaxed on some jagged rocks.

group shot.

we visited some nice places.

i am really happy; life is beautiful.

three days of bathing in salt water and lots of sunscreen = spikey hair!

our boat at sunset.

we slept on the deck underneath the most blissful array of stars and galaxies, awaking to a sunrise that looked like this. after seeing it, we'd sleep again.

another sunset.

another sunset.

another sunset; this one between two crags.

the water looks like clouds; and our hands are a bridge through the heavens.

the concept of property breaks down when we can all behold earth's majesty.

white haven beach at high tide; composed of the most delicate white sands and clear waters, here we swam with sting rays and decided we were never meant to leave.

a pretty little cove.

strategic positioning over the now-devoured vegetable and cheese platter.

on fitzroy island off cairns; there's our ocean trampoline.

swimming in mossman gorge; where kevin and i are determined NOT to get eaten by crocs.

still not eaten at a little swimming hold in the middle of the daintree rainforest with jolene, sweta, and bobbie.

outside a random house in the middle of the rainforest.

dani and i stuff ourselves at an exotic fruit farm; jakfruit for her, custard apple for me.

a list of what we ate.

this looks like a dismembered carcass of some sort; but really it is the remnants of dani and i's eating rampage; this jakfruit was the size of a watermelon until we finished it.

jolene, sweta, and i wandering among exotic fruit trees.

paved roads end at cape tribulation, but you can follow a gravel road another 50 km to the north before there's something like 1000km of unexplored and uninterrupted rainforest; here we're walking along some of hte gravel; it floods often and can be dangerous to drive along unless you like being swept into fast-flowing streams.

the daintree river opening into the coral sea.

yes, our vacation was very peaceful.

and with that, i'll let the sun set.
