I've decided working retail for a living sucks. It's not that the work itself sucks, it's actually not that bad. But boy does the pay suck.
I've been helping my sister out the last three nights doing a floorset (essentially a changeover from last season's clothes - new displays, new clothes, etc., you get the picture). Iworked 3:30 to 2 the first day, 2:15 to 2 the second day, and 2:30 to 3 last night. At $6.50 an hour (regular pay for the workers there), it doesn't add up to much, and I worked almost a full work week. Crazy.
So today, I'm nursing some soreness and will definitely be taking a hot bath. I need to clean stuff up a bit here, go home and clean up a bit there, take a personality assessment test online for the upcoming job interview (Hi, I have a psych degree, what makes you think if I did have schizophrenia that I wouldn't know the right answers to your test anyway?).
And tomorrow? Well, tomorrow I get to see a Cards v. Cubs game at the new Busch Stadium. Missy got company tickets and the 25th I'll be taking my dad to a game on my tickets. Woo hoo! Hopefully the Cardinals will snap out of their funk by then. They're 9 - 6 right now, which really isn't bad, and Pujol's is definitely on a roll. But, it'd be nice to see the pitching pick up and shutdown some teams and close some games. That's the end of my sports rant.
Can't wait to see the new ballpark. Oh, and I found out this 4th of July,
Fair St. Louis will feature the following acts (for free of course): Jason Mraz, Hootie & the Blowfish, Better Than Ezra, Sister Hazel, and India Arie. That should be fun. Gotta love St. Louis being all about the free stuff.
