A Love Letter To The Asphault

Living in Atlanta, accidents in the morning commute to work is a natural occurance, but this morning was different.
On my way to work this morning, traffic was backed up all the way to the exit we get on. I'm was like, "oh another accident."

As we got closer to the bus station, a cop blocked off the on-ramp to the station and approched the driver.

A couple committed suicide andjumped off of the overpass.

It sent a shiver down my spine. The only thing I could think of is what would send them to that place where that was the only way out? What were they thinking about on the way to the overpass? What went through their minds on the way down?

That shook my core more than the stain on the pavement or the obvious cars that hit or missed them. It'll be something they'll tell their kids. Maybe these things are in place to remind people of how fragile the human mind is and how precious human life is.
