So I have once again managed to go several months without giving everybody access to the best accessory any blogger can have: pictures of their cats. Cats are adorable. Cats are sweet (as long as you don't have to be in a room with them). And best of all, my cats are Siamese, which everybody knows is an awesome breed. BECAUSE I SAY SO.
So anyway, here are my cats.
So for those of you who are new here, I currently have two cats. The younger, dominant cat is Lilly, short for Lillian Kane Moscowitz Munster Cavanaugh Sawyer McGuire. Lilly is a purebred bluepoint Classic Siamese, and has recently turned four years old. Siamese often live into their twenties, so I'm going to be stuck with this particular kitty for a long time to come.
This, right here, is why I avoid clothes that require folding, or have a more than normal tendency to collect cat hair. We think Lilly may have been a groundhog or other burrowing mammal in a previous life. It's really the only way to explain her behavior when there's something to root in.
Anyone who has ever lived with a Siamese will tell you that they like to 'help' their owners. Lilly likes to 'help' me make the bed. This often leads to odd lumps in the covers making it very difficult for the chore to get finished.
But oh, behold the innocence when she emerges!
I travel a lot, for conventions, to visit friends, and for work. Lilly has figured out that whatever is in the suitcase gets to be where I am. The fact that she hates the car and would hate planes even more is purely academic.
Remember when I mentioned the pumpkin-fucker orange cat tree, and people were dubious that it could really be that orange? Well, look upon my pumpkin-fucker cat tree, o ye mighty, and despair. The cats really love it, too.
Lilly loves it so much she's decided to be a Halloween cat, to match the decor!
Oh, dear! What's this? Tyrannosaurus Rex, apex predator from a bygone era, has invaded the safe haven of my bedroom!
Run, Lilly, run!
OH NOES!!!!!
...or maybe she just doesn't care. Unflappable cat is not perturbed by my petty saurian antics.
After a fierce dino battle, Lilly likes to sleep in the sun.
I just really like this picture. Lilly really is a gorgeous cat, and it doesn't show often enough in photographs.
And now, Nyssa, my speckled mudslide kitty, being aged and elegant on the camouflage pillow. Nyssa likes the camo pillow. Personally, I think this is because she's totally invisible when she's on it.
Sometimes I'm not sure she still has bones.
Unlike Lilly, Nyssa actually uses the little house that comes with the cat tree, thus enrobing herself in orange.
And that's all for today.
