Some of you ask me why I don't write many Toby songs. It's because they are, innately, rife with spoilers. This is a song I wrote about certain events in One Salt Sea.

Spoilers? Meh. The book has been out for long enough. Also, if I hadn't yet read the book I wouldn't get enough from that song to spoil it. Certainly no more than promo materials.

But I also don't care a bit about spoilers - I read (watch TV, etc) for story and characters, not to be kept on the edge of my seat. Good thing, because at the rare at which I read I'd be pooched if I couldn't enjoy a re-re-re-read of a good book. 8^D

Re-re-re-reading books? My thought exactly. If a book can't stand up to being reread because it depends on no 'spoilers' then it's not one I'll be buying.

If it's a new book and I want to read it 'fresh' then I can just not read the post -- the song is behind a cut-tag marked SPOILERS, and the introductory text says SPOILERS. That's no different from when a new Doctor Who episode is shown and people post about it, and this song has far fewer spoilers than most new episode posts. Heck, it's got fewer spoilers than the BBC put in the listings for a new episode before it's shown.
