Being as I am currently in New York, while my cats remain at home in California, I miss them dearly. You know what that means. That's right.
Time for cat pictures.
This is Lilly -- short for Lillian Kane Moscowitz Munster Cavanaugh Sawyer McGuire. Note the long, elegant nose and suspicious expression. These are the hallmarks of the Siamese cat. The electric orange towel is perhaps a little less standard to the breed, but any cat that spends a lot of time sprawling on things in my room is going to wind up spending a lot of time on an orange background.
Lilly is a purebred bluepoint, and has a voice like a cranky buzzsaw ripping through a room full of college co-eds. I love her dearly, but if she hadn't learned to stop the midnight serenades, she wouldn't have lived as long as she has.
You can't really tell in this picture, but Lilly has no tail. It was lost in an accident when she was less than three days old. Her breeder gave me a discount for being willing to take a damaged kitten. Yes. My cat got remaindered.
Here's a closer-up shot. Behold that glorious bone structure! Truly, my cat is the pointest of all the pointy princesses.
This is about when Lilly started getting a little bit annoyed by the clicky box that made the big flashes. This is Lilly's 'what the fuck, Mom?' face. She makes it a lot, usually when I'm doing incomprehensible human things, like putting her off my lap so I can get some damn writing done already.
You can't really tell from this picture, but Lilly and I are having a very serious philosophical discussion which really boils down to 'I say she's not allowed to do something that she wants to do, she whines about it a great deal.' This is here largely to give an idea of the immense scope of my cat. Truly she is vast in her magnificence, and is made entirely of muscle and bone. Muscle and bone which often slams into my solar plexus at two o'clock in the morning.
This, meanwhile, is Nyssa. Nyssa is professionally ancient. This is a cat who has witnessed continental drift. She doesn't move much anymore, because she really doesn't need to do anything beyond sitting around and looking regal.
And those are my cats.
