My comment is "Yee muthafuckin' haw!" I have such faith in the people making the Spider-Man movies that I have no doubt that Spider-Man 3 is going to rock the house big time. I fuckin' hate Venom and that preview still makes me just shit my pants, wanting to see that movie. I think it's going to be just so good. I remember seeing Spider-Man 2 and how I was a complete 12-year-old all the way through it. It picked me up right as it started, took me away, and didn't put me back down again until the credits rolled. Completely the opposite of Superman ( ... )

For the record, the Superman animated series by Paul Dini and Bruce Timm was the bomb.
Otherwise I agree with you wholeheartedly.

This movie was doomed from the get go. I knew people were going to hate it. I did not like it b/c it was just not good. Brandon Routh had no personality. Not nearly as charming as Mr. Reeve was as Superman. The movie was way to dark. But most importantly every super hero movie now must live up to the standards of Spiderman. Spiderman was that good. Spiderman set the bar for superhero movies, and that bar is way to high that not even superman can reach it. I walked out of that with several thoughts in my head. But like a lot of people I walked out thinking "Spiderman is still the best superhero movie ever made" Sam Raimi did everything right.

I did the same with "The Hulk" "Daredevil" "fantastic 4". Walked out thinking "Nowhere near as good as Spiderman" This movie did not have a hope in hell from the begining.

That still does not take away from the fact it was a bad movie.

Here here! Yeah, it's doubly fucked. first, it's just a bad movie. Second, the Spider-man movies are just so good that everyone's game has to get stepped up. Batman nailed it, I even think that The Hulk was good for what it needed to be (that material works better as a think piece instead of an action spectacular), but Superman was an affront. And they owe it to us to do that character right. But the Warner Brothers machine is just too big and too cumbersome, they don't even know what the character is.
