Some things that I am into right now, just because I am in a totally joyful mood!

ANNIE MAC

I listen to Annie Mac's show on BBC Radio 1. They have this cool thing where they archive all of their shows so if you don't hear it while it's live, you've got until the next one to listen to it at your leisure! Annie Mac has a dance music show where she plays whatever she feels like, it's all over the map, and she has exquisite taste in what is danceable. And her voice holding the thing together is just the hottest sound ever, just about. I usually listen to her early on Monday or Tuesday, so I start my week dancing my ass off for a couple of hours. It's good exercise and it makes me smile, so that's what's up.

MORE OR LES

many you saw when I plugged MC More or Les' CD release last week. I met him back when I was hustling comic books streetside and he would always be down the block, closer to Spadina, holdin' out his CD and performing tracks from it. I recognized him because he was the president of my high school's Student Council when I was in Grade Nine! So we have kept in touch and I have been a fan ever since. So he had his CD release last week and I knew it was going to be the bomb, but I had no idea how good it was going to be. More Or Les has a delivery like you never seen, and his micrphone technique is excellent. He's a great MC and excellent performer, just hey Les! Don't be so surprised when so many people wanna come see you! Of course they do! Anyway, the CD was such a treat when I got it home. There's 19 tracks, no skits. The production is top drawer, the flows are the bomb, but what is really starting to emerge as my favorite thing about it is the sentiment. Les has a powerful creative vision and he's a guy that really wants good things for the world. The CD is a million things you would have said yourself, if you were smart enough to have come up with them. It's like I wrote to Les, "there's a lot of truth in there! Let 'em know!" And even though I championed Gnarls Barkley a little bit ago, this is really the best CD going right now.

MY PIANO

I love playing my piano, and now that I'm in a much bigger apartment than the last one, I don't need to put it away every time. It has it's own place that it lives so I can play a little thing here and there whenever I pass it. I need to play it a little every day for the mental health side of things. And on the weekend I just got the piano book for Wingspan so I have the sheet music for the whole double-album! Now I've got a whole bunch more songs to get into instead of the Beatles with guitar chords which was all I knew how to play before. I've always wanted to learn Maybe I'm Amazed, and I was so surprised and pleased with myself when I learned it in less than a day! Fun stuff, lemme tell you.

That's it for now.

PS: Who remembers Cassius? A one hit wonder from like '98 or something... and Annie Mac just played it!! I ain't so much as THOUGHT about that song in years!!!
