We got a new subwoofer over the weekend, so I decided to be gangsta and blare crunk rap with the bass up all the way.  My neighbors must be pissed.

This brings me to some commentary.  It's my opinion that people should be completely open-minded when it comes to music.  Considering that the majority of the people that read my livejournal are band kids, I'm sure most of us know that music is a way of expressing yourself.  When you perform/compose/dance to/ listen to music, you tend to put a part of yourself into the music.  This brings me to my point, if every person is different, every song is therefore different and has a story to tell (at least in most cases) and shouldn't be ignored.

I understand that there are many types of genres and there are some you may absolutely love and some that you absolutely hate, but it's impossible to clarify each song.  For example, rap/ hip hop songs tend to have a lot of vial, offensive lyrics, but not all of them do.  Yeah by Usher which is arguably one of the most popular songs of this generation (I happen to be listening to it at this moment) is a pretty clean (except for the stanza by Ludacris) and the Black Eyed Peas "Where is the Love" and "Union" preach tolerance, acceptance, equaltiy and love.  I personally hate most country, but because I've kept an open mind I've found a few songs I kinda like.  I'm not saying like each song, or even give each song a try, but please try to keep an open mind when it comes to music and don't dismiss a song just because it fits a classification, you may find that you'll like it.

I know it's random, but I'm sick of people that are always like "ewww, I hate *insert genre here*" and then later they like it.
