Flowers
A Chinese saying came to my mind:
‘The first creature to rise above the animal level
was he who stopped to pick flowers,
because he understood the use of uselessness’.
I like the word ‘uselessness’. Not only is it a word with 5x the letter ‘s’, it is also a useless word. I never use it because it describes a situation which to me is quite normal.
Everything in life is useless. It makes no sense at all; but as long it is fun I continue.
Funny I relate to this now. I was thinking of C. who is never out of my mind. I saw a field of yellow flowers and thought of us lying between the flowers in the warm sun. She was totally relaxed. I picked flowers for her in my mind. I am very sad I cannot surprise her with my flowers.
