I'm starting to think that there's a tipped balance here. Like there was back there.

People saying that they'll keep things safe, i'm not saying that they don't try because i'm sure they do but... It just seems like an empty promise in a place like this, where anything and everything could happen and slip past those things.

In this place, a place where things seem to always harm someone in some way be it mentally or physically, can you really promise to keep people safe?

I know how hard it is to protect people. Are you really protecting people by getting angry at someone stating their thoughts? ...I said that you're trying but i'm hardly going to say that all faith of protection can be placed in you when there's the fact that something always seems to get through. It's the nature of this place.

Yes, I think it's safe to say that I understand the conditions here.

We try. It's all we can do. Frankly I'm happier knowing that we're out there making an effort instead of waiting around for something else to come along and kill us.

I just...don't see how you can 'promise' to protect people when there's likely something at some point that will get through. I'm not saying that you're not trying, because you obviously are...

Just, i've heard a lot of people that make promises that they can't keep up to.

I don't make promises I know I can't keep. Someone will always get hurt, and I realize that I can't save them all.

But what I can do is promise to make my best effort. And that's exactly what I and the rest of the force are doing.

I'm not. I said to that God that I wouldn't use my powers and I won't, there's someone else who could become a threat though.

And it's my responsibility to keep him in line. I can't very well lead a life when I have to watch someone all the time.

No, saying that the Task Force is having trouble staying together when its head is out of commission and the entire world has completely flipped around and maybe they should stay together a bit better isn't complaining at all.
