i wasn't going to post again today because it makes me feel like a drip. but i was writing an email to emmy and wrote the following description of working at NM:
i have two bosses, technically--Mike and John. John is AWESOME--a laid-back, oriental-rug-loving gay man in his fifties with two children from an earlier marriage. He's really low-maintenance, though, so i don't get to interact with him as much as Mike. Mike, on the other hand, is a high-energy, extremely motivated, kinda good-ol-boy, full-time job. He's always really busy, which is why he needs an assistant, but he's also sort of hapless. As in, he doesn't get technology, really. i understand his need for an assistant, but i kinda resent the fact that it means he won't even address his own mail (that's my job).
that about it sums it up. i thought it was a good description for all you to know so that when i refer to "mike" and "john," you'll know whether to picture the good-ol-boy or the oriental-rug-loving gay man.
