Long overdue, I know X3 This'll be a constant header, as well as her list of... well, 'allies' and enemies, once I get that up >.>
Also! Comment here for plots, contact, critique, advice, etc. :3
Angelus' Home World:
In this world, which is mostly medieval in nature, there are four Seals that protect the world from chaos. One is in the forest, one in the water, one in the desert, and a fourth held within a woman who becomes known as the goddess.
There are many races, but the only sentient ones seem to be Dragons, Elves, and Humans, with a smattering of intelligence spreading among trolls, goblins, gryphons and the like. The time when dragons dominated is considered to be over by all but the dragons themselves, and it’s been said that the new age dawning is the Age of Man.
Among the humans, two forces dominate all. The Union, whose sole purpose appears to be to protect the seals and the Goddess herself, and the Empire, who wish to destroy the seals in hopes of bringing forth the Seeds of Resurrection in order to change the world as they see fit.
Angelus' History:
Angelus’s parents were slain by humans, and she spent a good portion of her 10,000 year life hating and resenting man for it. Little is known about what she did before the story starts, but when she appears in the game, she has been captured and mortally wounded by the race she detested. As she waited for death to come to her, she was approached by a man named Caim (whose parents had been killed by an Imperial dragon), Son of the Royal Family and head of the Union. He had been wounded in his fight against the Empire while protecting the goddess (his sister), and when he found Angelus, he was dieing as surely as she was. Though Caim hated dragons as much as Angelus hated man, they agreed to a pact to keep each other alive. They soul-bonded (the Pact which also binds their lives and deaths) and Caim lost the use of his voice for his trouble. Angelus chose to assist Caim in his fight against the Empire and a powerful religious cult called The Watchers. One by one they tried to defend the seals, and one by one they were overwhelmed by the dark forces the Watchers used to boost the Empire’s numbers. The Seals fall, but Caim and Angelus manage to stop the Empire. However, a new Seal must be chosen to save the world from chaos. Angelus volunteers, and in becoming the seal, she vanishes.
[character abilities]: Fire breathing in short bursts, or (less frequently) in large, area spanning streams. Otherwise, typical teeth and tail. Her forearms are her wings, so she does lack that particular weapon. Flying, of course.
[character personality]:
Angelus most often comes across as arrogant. She belongs to a race long regarded as the masters of the natural world, and in her eyes, all others are like most people would view animals. Interesting, fun to watch, but not on the same level as herself. Her break-down of races is as so: Dragons are superior, elves are a fair, peace-loving race, humans are “a race to be pitied”, and anything else are “jackals” “persistent insects” and filthy vermin.
She appears to prefer observing things and commenting on them as ruthlessly as a bored movie-riffer. She mocks the noble and their intentions, questions the validity of people’s fears and passions, all with a dry sense of humor and an apparent love of pointing out ironies.
She becomes quickly irritated with the indecisive and cowardly , not willing to waste her time in coddling a species she thinks is inferior anyway. Her resentment towards man breeds a defiant streak, and she often mocks those who make threats or thinks they’re powerful. This attitude often extends into battle, where she relishes taking down enemies that challenge her.
However, for all her ego-centric arrogance, she can, and will fight for a purpose she perceives as “good”*. She’s not evil, just disdainful, bitter, and sarcastic. She’s also very perceptive** often catching onto feelings and thoughts in humans that the people themselves refuse to admit. She uses this to her advantage, frequently commenting on said thoughts and feelings in an unsympathetic way.
*evidenced by her protection of Caim from a dragon that would have killed him, her eagerness to defeat the Empire and the Watchers, her concern for the Goddess, and the sacrifice she makes in becoming the next Seal.
**more evidence: she notices Caim’s resentment about his sister, Furiae being chosen as the Goddess, she notices the depth of Caim’s feelings for his sister. She also notes and comments on Inuart’s undying love for the goddess, and Furiae’s loneliness in being the goddess. Not to mention Ariosh’s madness…
So what would I like to see happen, as far as character growth?
Angelus is going to have to have a great big chunk of humble pie to get by in this city. She's used to having no one question her. In her world, she was free to mock and scorn, and there weren't many willing to bite back at her for it. Obviously things are different in this city. She'll have to learn she's not the only powerhouse here X3
In the game, it seemed like humans were a constant let down for Angelus, like she would hope one among the human would be as righteous or good as they claimed, but she kept finding they weren't. So it'd be nice for her to encounter some of those who really are good or pure. As vicious as she is with adults and the human race in general, she has actually proved to be at least slightly more gentle with children. Maybe she still has hope for them >.>
There's so much greed, seriousness, jealousy and anger in her world, it would be good for her to get to meet people who are more lighthearted. So long as they don't quail beneath her bitchiness XD
Fandom time! Here's a short (growing) list of characters/series i would love to encounter! Whether or not Angelus would appreciate said meetings is still to be determined.... Sorry in advance! D:
