I've been reading a Star trek book, Vulcan's Heart, a sequel to Vulcan's Forge, which I quite enjoyed. I've owned it for a number of years, and have in fact read it before, but I remembered it being very good.
This time around, however, I was finding it not as good as a I remembered it being. I found it odd how less-than-great it was, because as I mentioned, the earlier book, Vulcan's Forge, was really good.
When I got to the end, I thought, "Huh. That was nowhere near as good as I remember it being. How disappointing."
Then I turned to the inside rear cover, and found a sticky note from myself.
It wasn't as good as you remember it being, was it? --Mur of Yore
P.S. - You never read Vulcan's Forge. You're thinking of Spock's World.
Son of a bitch. Not only have I made this exact same mistake before, but I knew I would make it again, and instead of warning myself about it at the front of the book, I reprimanded myself at the end of the book. I pranked myself. How is that even possible?

I am now reading Spock's World. It's quite good.
