Quis Custodiet Ipsos Custodes?

Who Watches The Watchmen? Tragically, not me tomorrow. Although I have been anxiously awaiting the debut of the movie for a very long time, mrs_clubber and I somehow managed to schedule a party at our home on opening day. As the flick is almost 3 hours long, there just isn't going to be time to squeeze in an afternoon matinee (and while I am seriously tempted to head out for midnight showing tonight, the thought of getting home at 4am with a full day ahead of me doesn't exactly thrill me, either).

I'll see it next Friday (I prefer to see movies during weekdays when the crowds are significantly diminished). So now comes a weeklong obstacle course of Internet fanboy avoidance (Where even the message subjects might give too much away, e.g. omg they killed [character]!!!!!!1!!), and, more challengingly, the TV commercial/trailer spoiler freestyle fleeing. After opening weekend, studios seem to seriously amp up the television promos, throwing more of the movie at you to coax you off your couch and into the movie theatre where you belong. It becomes a serious challenge to avoid seeing these spots (and thus have more of the movie spoiled for you), most especially now that our television is no longer on speaking terms with the remote and we have lost the ability to mute or change channels from afar.

Man, the things I endure just to drink copious amounts of alcohol with friends.
