I was reading today's Cracked.com article, 15 Overlooked Deaths of 2008, and you know who had the #1 spot? Majel Barrett. WTF? How the hell did Majel Barrett's death slip under my radar? She died on December 18th, of complications due to leukemia.
She had the distinction of appearing in every incarnation of Star Trek, was the voice of the computer, and also appeared in an episode of Babylon 5 (causing a momentary lull of confusion in the Trek-is-better-No-B5-is-better war).
Man. Majel Barrett. Warp speed, good lady.
Oh, and fuck you, leukemia.

You know who else died this year? Don LaFontaine, the movie trailer voiceover guy. Now who the hell is going to tell me that in a land before time, in a world without hope, a lone warrior stands between good and evil?
In case you don't know who I mean (and I'll be stunned if you do not), he's this guy (despite the fact that they call him 'Jack' in this piece):
