Picked this up in the frozen section at Henry's sometime last week. As with all gluten-free products, it lists the most common other allergens it contains, so it's easy to check for things like peanuts, soy, and dairy products. Asian isn't very descriptive, but the ingredients list included both coconut milk and curry, so I figured I was in for a Thai taste.
This smells like it's going to be pretty spicy, and possibly it is. I have an incredibly high threshold for spicy heat. To me, the taste is pleasantly sharp-edged, just enough to help clear my sinuses a little, but mostly kind of bland. Anyone with normal taste buds might use caution. For frozen food, the vegetables are nicely crunchy and well-colored. The tofu's not quite as firm as I like it, but again, frozen food. The noodles have a good texture.
I'll be buying this again, and I'll be on the lookout for other dishes from the same brand.
food porn,
gluten-free revolution,
but would you eat it?
