BPAL: Eden

Apr 16, 2007 16:09

I figured I should take advantage of having Spouse around to do his part, so I may be doing one of these each day until I'm caught up.

Description from the site:

At the center of the Garden of Eden stands the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil. Though modern interpretations of the Bible claim that it was an apple that the Serpent of the Tree offered to Eve, it is widely believed that the true Fruit of True Knowledge was, in fact, a fig. This oil contains the innocence of the Garden, coupled with the Truth and Erudition found in the fruit of the Tree of Evil: fig leaf, fig fruit, honeyed almond milk, toasted coconut and sandalwood.

In the bottle:

Spiced almond and coconut over mellow wood, with an edge of something green and growing.

Wet:

The spices get an extra kick, and the almond is very strong.

Drydown:

Mmm, the green and non-coconut fruit notes come forward. This could be very sweet if not for that green and the wood. While it smells like Queen of Sheba in the bottle, it smells much wetter and greener on my wrist.

Dry:

This blends beautifully on my skin. It becomes almost one note, but an incredibly complex one. The throw is mostly green spice, which I like, though at this stage, it doesn't really smell like Queen of Sheba at all.

Spouse Report:

Spouse said it smells Christmasy, like Christmas morning. I told him the notes were fruit/spice/nut/wood/leaf, and he said that was what it was, it smelled like a really good tree. I agree, though I think it smells very late summery rather than Christmas. Either way, we both quite like it. In fact, the longer I wear it, the more I like it, though it's not the mad crazy love I have for Hungry Ghost Moon. It ages very, very well on my skin. What a wonderfully unexpected surprise.

So, a keeper imp, though I want to test this out on Jenn and Eliza and Megan. And Krys, but alas she's in Utah. I'll have to get her her own imp. *G*

Speaking of Hungry Ghost Moon, bottle number three arrived today. This soothes my anxiety about running out somewhat, but I'm still hunting more.
