Okay, if you could actually read what I wrote, I would be much more inclined to take you seriously. Did I say he would be as good as MJ or Reggie Miller? No. In fact (again, being able to read would help) I said the exact opposite. He WON'T be the next MJ or Reggie...probably not even close. But let's face it, there aren't very many players now or ever who have been as good as those guys, but that doesn't mean those players don't make significant NBA contributions. And I wasn't claiming that he would make Cleveland or Miami that much better now, that was ESPN. You know, the guys whose job it is to sit around and analyze sports. I'm pretty sure they know more than you do. Here's something else for you...if you've ever actually played basketball and learned the fundamentals, they teach you to shoot exactly like J.J. Redick does. He has textbook form, and part being a great shooter is FOLLOWING THROUGH. That's why he holds his hand up, not because he's "gay". I'll be the first to admit that he most likely won't be a superstar in the NBA, like MJ or Shaq (and, once again, if you could read you would know I never claimed that he would), but he doesn't have to to be a good NBA player. How valuable has Robert Horry been, for example? The guy has lame numbers normally, but he is a big reason why the Lakers and Spurs won their championships. The Lakers two years ago proved you can't win with a team of just hall-of-famers...you need role players...guys who don't need 30 shots a game to make a difference. That could very well be what J.J. Redick does.

First of all, you need to take everything that ESPN publishes for granted. No one there even predicted this final four, which I saw as pretty much the most obvious lock ever in the history of gambling on this tournament. They also continue to employ the most obnoxious announcer in sports history in Dick Vitale. During the oh-so-satisfying defeat of Duke on the senior night of Shelden Williams and JJ Redick (5-21), I almost vomited. Vitale loves Duke more than 1980's Charlie Sheen loved hookers. This is travesty in the art of objectively announcing a basketball game. To make a personal attack on my game is also an offensive low blow. You have never seen my no-look pass or my steve kerr-esque ability to bring the rain from beyond the arc.

Also, you absolutely can discount fantastic college careers. Look at the Fab-Five. Out of possibly the greatest NCAA tournament team, and one of the few to visit the modern final game twice in a row, as freshmen and sophomores nonetheless, only 3 are playing in the NBA. Football contains even more examples. Under the current rules, the face of the NBA is the freak-rookie straight out of high school or one or two years of college, not the sentimental 4-year senior.

I did my research as to who you quoted, and I have to say, Skip Bayless is a complete disgrace to sportwriters everywhere. I would pay $5 to watch a bear eat him. He is a cocky, beligrant and offensive. And besides all that, we all know he is, well, less-than-endowded (http://seahawk88.livejournal.com/50919.html)

The point is, that I can shoot three-pointers and someday, I MIGHT be an asset to some NBA team. I just hope that I would get to be on either Vince Carter, or Allen Iverson's team, because they are straight gangster and i would probably get into some pretty cool clubs if I was with them.

And about your Jeff Hornacek point, did you ever notice that when playing NBA Jam T.E., you never, ever put up as many points in a quarter throwing Hornacek on the court instead of the Stockton-Malone Juggernaut? All I'm saying is that Redick is grossly overrated, stinks because of poor hygiene, and will have a short-lived and unnervingly awkward NBA career, if one at all.

Yeah, I admit that ESPN isn't always right. And, even as a Duke fan, Dick Vitale does get incredibly annoying. That Skip Bayless shit was pretty funny too...he is pretty much a loud, self-obsessed guy.

But the "Fab Five"...Juwan Howard, Jalen Rose, Chris Webber? I mean, come on, those guys turned out to be pretty good NBA players. Even though they've all pretty much faded out now, they were, at one point, very good. I'm kind of playing Devil's Advocate here...everyone is saying J.J. Redick is absolutely gonna suck in the NBA, just like he "sucked" in college. It's absolutely possible that he will. What I'm saying is, there is support for the other side of the argument that no one seems to care about. I can't say definitively that he'll be a good NBA player, but no one can say definitively that he'll be an awful NBA player.

And no, I haven't seen your game. Could be awesome. Kerr-esque eh? That would be pretty sweet. Bet you he followed through too though. Okay, and the NBA Jam T.E. thing, I can't think of anyone you could throw on the court that would top the Stockton-Malone tandem. I'd take those two guys over any other one (except maybe MJ, since, well, you know...he basically owned those two...kind of a sore spot with me, being a hopeless Jazz fan too), and probably any other two guys in the league. But there's Hornacek's jersey, retired right next to Stockton's and a stone's throw away from Malone's, and he was in those two NBA Finals too.

It is unfortunate that the face of the NBA is such a player...the guys who go to school just to get it over with to go to the NBA. Guys who do stay in college for 4 years, who actually get their degree so they don't sound like complete apes in the post-game interviews should get extra signing bonuses or something. But even if Redick's great college career ends up being for naught, people won't forget his cross-country duel this past year with Adam Morrison, so you can't discount THAT.

And sorry if I really did offend you...I kind of get worked up over shit like this, just because it seems so one-sided.
