Strangely enough C-ville has a huge music scene. I have known this for some time but only foray out into it now. The reaction has been pretty interesting. Peeps find out who my family is and what I have done and get excited. I tell them I haven't written in over 8 years and I am looking to reclaim the muse and they get giddy.
My medium no longer works, I used to hum songs in my head to musicians but it ain't there no more. My acceptance of my introversion may have something to do with it. So I am hoping learning an instrument will help me. My first guitar Lesson went well, he taught me finger exorcises that make sense. I always started with cords and trying to change between them, but in my opinion that was bas ackwards.
My teacher's name is Manabu. He is a Japanese fellow that loves folk music and knows most of my father's associates art. He loves American muscle cars and will teach me how to play folk songs one day. The only one I wasn't wildly familier with was Joni Mitchell so that will be hella fun.
Guess I am doing better...
