we were walking through the rain
the parking meter waiting to be paid
a ticket left on the dash
wanting us to forfeit 10 dollars cash
we were walking through the forest
with a guitar on my shoulder
i didn't let my mouth sing
but inside that's all it was doing
this fellow named julian
wearing no shoes and holding a crystal
showed us how to vortex our water
and led us to a spring off
the beaten path where students
study life and plants
we sat on an abandoned car
smoked flowers and herbs
as the rain fell down
i had to take off my jacket
to cover my guitar
i had to take off my sweater
to cover my camera
he explained ceremony
while talking in riddles
while speaking in poems
we went to the spot where
teo and i had made a triangle
out of tree branches
and this julian guy
had already filled it up with
his tree branch infinity circles
but i didn't like the rain and
carrying my guitar around
like it was a gun so i said my goodbyes
and hung my wand up to dry
