Snakes in a Tabo

There's something that's been inside my mind for the past days -

"Bakit ka magbebenta ng ahas? Bakit ka bibili ng ahas??!? "

This mind-boggler was triggered by the sight of several guys circling around a man showing off young snakes he was selling near the sidewalk in Monumento. A few hours later, after I was done with my grocery shopping, I saw two teenagers playing and teasing their girl friends by forcing them to touch/look at the the just-bought snakes. Where will they put the young creatures later on, I wouldn't really know. Maybe they will place them in a 'tabo' with water and watch them everytime they prepare for shower. Or make the young reptiles find their home in a neighbor's tree somewhere or something.

It's just crazy for me.

One of my biggest fears are snakes. That's the reason why I did not try touching that boa constrictor in our Bohol trip and the same reason why I would not be entering a house full of new shoes and bags, if it means going through a bunch of snakes in the doorway. Hahah!

Even if those do not bite, and they just usually eat wood/worms/grass instead, why would anyone (a teenager or someone without a zoo/animal labs specifically) buy a one-foot snake?

I am still not contented.
