Foolish Navy, giving me ships!

So it's official, they're giving us warships. The government is none too bright, obviously...

I passed my MARS 3 course, and am now on my way to MARS 4 part one, so I should be returning home on the 26th of August. No more navigation for a year; I'm so happy.

My long slow descent into alcoholism is beginning to catch up with me. The other day I didn't wake up when my alarm went off and so I woke up 5 minutes after I was supposed to be in class. My roommate, having also slept in in a drunken haze, was similarly in trouble. One piece of paper later and it's all patched up; I can only do one more really stupid thing here this summer and next summer or they start to try to kick you out for being unofficer like and stupid. The way I've been acting out here this summer though, it was more of an eventuality than a possibility that I was going to get in to trouble. I'm out of control. We all are.

As for what's next: Firefighting and damage control, and some basic engineering. Fun stuff. I have quite a few stories a la last year, but they shouldn't be put down in print, as some of them incriminate me in things that are not fit for publication on the internet, that bastion of morality and prudence.

I am seriously not looking forward to the beginning of school. School sucks. I need a vacation, and I really don't like papers and stuff. And you all know how much I study; it's like I have no time for me.

Anyhow, the home stretch is in sight: merely 3 1/2 weeks to go and then it's back to montreal. See you guys when I get back,

Curtis
