OK, the Emmys...shrug
Now here's a show I never watch because I broke up with television, remember? Well, ok, now I'm watching Mad Men (and Nurse Jackie on DVD/AfterEllen.com recap) so I guess I'm now watching. Actors and other from a certain other show not very visible but then my mind wandered a bit, I'll admit.
Favorite moments--Watching Edie Falco win best actress in a comedy. EF: "I'm not funny!" I don't really think this show is a comedy. Example: former co-worker, dying of lung cancer (everyone who works in health care there smokes), asks for help dying. So they all steal morphine here and there until they have enough. Last scene is Jackie going to pack up her friend's (lonely looking, stark) apt while very sad Patty Griffin song plays in the background. Well, wtf. She's great in that role.
Was great to see Mad Men win again, best drama and writing, but sad to see all of the nominated cast not win. Christina, maybe next year.
I'd forgotten how long and boring this show is but I guess it's better if you know the shows. Followed by a very good ep of Mad Men. I've loved the last two eps but for those who haven't succumbed, I'm not going to spoil it for you. People have had a lot to say about certain people's dresses. Well...
