i'm sure some of you have seen things like this around
if not, this is from a site where you apologize to a cow. when i first heard about this site, i thought immediately of the native american's rituals (ussually a dance of sorts) after a hunt to thank the animal for it's body, and apoligize for taking it's life. so i went to check the site out. my response:
WTF
the theory behind the site is that the average american will feel much less guilty about eating beef products if they just APOLOGIZE to the cows. once again, WTF! Would jews would forgive hitler if he just apoligized to them as he had them killed by the thousands?
the site has a note that someone is apparently going to read to a cow, apoligizing for killing it and all other cows. the note calls the cows act's brave and selfless. now i'm not saying that cows are pansies, but I don't think they have much of a say in the matter. i doubt the farmers are going out there asking if it's ok that they kill them so that McDonald's and Burger King can take over the world.
the note also talks about how one day, maybe they'll find a plant that gives us products similar to beef, and beverages similar to milk. but until they find a plant like that "You'll just have to die anyway." that's the end of the note! I'm sure the fuckin Cow wants to hear that!
in closing, a final comment. if you really feel bad about eating cows, don't sign a letter to be read to a cow. the cow can't speak english. it doesn't fuckin care what some wanna-be hippie is blathering on about in front of it. it's just thinking "get the fuck out of my stall. your in the way of my troth." if your really guilty, become a vegetarian.
