Pirate in the Blood

I don't even know where this came from. It just happened. If you think it's an odd thing to write the day of your grandfather's funeral, well, you're right.

I am odd, and weird, and, I've been told, a bitch. But I've come to an accord with all that.

I'm not even sure he would have liked Pirates of the Caribbean-- he was almost 94, and I think ( Read more... )

I'm honored it was the first PotC you've read :)

I don't have an account on fanfiction.net, mainly because I didn't like how their TOS was so woefully out of date when I investigated, and also because the never-ending Star Wars saga I've been working on has its smutty chapters, and I was scared it would get reported & deleted-- there was a lot of that going on for a while.

Sometimes I think I should break out of this little comfort zone of LJ and risk the Pit.

Yeah, Jack Sparrow is a most beautiful rogue, but always in the back of my mind is that bathing isn't something he does with any regularity, and his teeth are rotten, and he's probably crawling with unpleasant things picked up from the Tortuga "ladies"-- there's a worrisome reddish spot on his jawline that makes me wonder about syphilis. And they took away some of his lovableness in DMC. For the sake of darkness, I guess.

And Orli-- he's so pretty, and he's the heroic young knight of the whole story, but I just want to chuck him on the cheek and send him out to build sandcastles on the beach. James Norrington, on the other hand, is all grown up and just asking to be gotten slightly drunk and into a bathtub and then have all sorts of liberties taken with his person.

Thank you for the condolences. He was the real patriarch of the family in such a good way and his absence leaves a hole in the world.
