So I quit
Curtin. After three job applications and six interviews (one which I cancelled) I've got a new job with a major ISP.
I'm a Network Administrator in a Network Operations Centre. I'll be working strange shifts at odd hours on a rotating basis, so it'll mean that I'll get lots of time off during the days and I'll have 'off' periods of several days each week. It's also a radical departure from what I've been doing up until this point, which is great because I've badly needed a change. It's also going to be quite challenging and I'm going to be learning a lot of new skills. It has a clear path for moving forward in the company as well. It's not expected that I'll stay in this position more than about 18 to 24 months. So all up I think this is the right choice for me, though I still feel like I'm throwing myself in at the deep end.
