Forever is a long time to waste.

Her fingers trembled on the door handle, pale and bright against the dark wood, and she hestiantly yanked upon it. Her mind screamed at her to turn away, to run back into the darkness that she was born from. After all, it was where she belonged anyway. A creature with fangs, drinking and feasting on the blood of the human race night after night, darkness was the only welcoming aspect of such a life. At least there she couldn't see their faces and the pain in their eyes as their life was slowly drained away to keep her pitful self in existance. Shuddering, the blond woman entered the sanctuary, steps dragging on the carpet as she made her way to a place where things like herself were supposed to never go.
It was quiet in the church, empty pews and battered pray books were all that greeted her keen teal hues. If she had breath, the woman would have surely started to hyprvehnilate. She hadn't felt so frightened in over three hundred years, but in the place where God called home such a immortal creature was like a child being scolded by a parent for beating up on younger siblings. Her tall frame sank into the hard wooden seat rows back from the center of the church, eyes taking in the sullen figure of christ upon the cross, rose petals scattered at his feet from the latest mass. A single candled burned brightly upon the podium, its flame ghostly in the near darkness of this place.
Oh how she didn't belong here, she wasn't human and hadn't felt a heart beat for centuries...did she honestly think that a god would take mercy on her now? Haruka had killed, sucked the life from mere innocent babies to saturate her own hunger and need for blood...how could she be forgiven for that? Numbly, the vampire sank upon the kneeler and hands clasped in front of her and tears strangely prickling at her eyes. It was ironic that she cried now when she hadn't shown a ounce of caring for those lives she had stolen...but religion makes one humble...regret only feeds the fire.

" Forgive me...for taking her life..." She whispered, the tears stumbling down her white cheeks, falling into the hollow cheek bones and her chin. It was amaxing how one life...the life of that ocean spirit could make her feel so unclean...so horrible. She licked her lips, tasting the last traces of the innocent teen's blood, she shivered. The only person who never saw her as a monster...who loved her and she had taken her life.

For that Haruka prayed for salvation for the woman she had turned into one of her own.
