ANIMORPHS

Feb 06, 2006 20:02

A long time ago, when Jessica and I were young, we used to always write like fanfics or our own stories and pass it back and forth. XD Between the two of us, we had some pretty interesting stories and plots going on. And it was always uber fun. So, we decided to give it a try again. This time with the story and plot line of Animorphs by K.A. Applegate. For those who are interested and care to read. Go ahead. And if you haven't read Animorphs before, I did my best to explain the most important details of the plot line. So Here you have it Jess. Yooooour tuuuuurrrrn <3<3<3<3

P.s. Bare with me...the beginning is boring x__X and I dont have the best writing and spelling skills. And the paragraphing and stuff got all fuckered up too, thats cause Im a retard and dont know how to use the Lj cut thingy.

ANIMORPHS

PROLOGUE
Disclaimer: ANIMORPHS belongs to the great and all mighty K.A. Applegate. Jess and I are only borrowing them for this story. As most would consider this as a fanfic, but sure. Call it what you like. ^_^ Anyways. This will be updated periodically as we pass back and forth the story. Hope it doesn't bore you too much, and enjoy.

Point of view: Rachel

Leaves crumpled and crisped beneath pounding paws. A pack of six wolves paced themselves on pursuit, heading deeper and deeper into the forest. Their breath steamed and wisped through the chilled evening air.
< Amazing species these wolves are.> Ax spoke up in thought speech. < To hold such stamina across extended distances.> This aroused a giggle from Cassie.
She said < They are built for long distance travels and to have ranged territories.>
Good ol'e Cassie. Can always rely on our high watered, fashion challenged, animal expert. She has been my best friend ever since I could hold a crayon. We have been through so much together. Many terrifying, bloody Yeerk battles. Many long sleepless nights and countless times we shared shoulders to cry upon, for the past fifteen years. Yes... fifteen years. Fifteen long trecherous years we have been fighting the Yeerks. Yet we only have managed to to wipe out a few to a hundred of attempted Yeerk pools, while putting our adolescent lives at risk, warding off and only keeping the Yeerks at bay.

Whoa, whoa....whoa. Perhaps I should back up a bit and explain Why we are fighting Yeerks and why we are wolves. My name is Rachel. I wont tell you my last name. Or even if my real name is even Rachel. That would be too risky. The Yeerks are everywhere. They could be anyone. They musn't know our names, where we live, or even...that we are humans. You see, the Yeerks think we are a group of Andalite bandits, that have escaped the war and now residing on earth, barely fighting back the envasion. It has been a living hell these past fifteen years. My friends and comrades in battle, Jake who is like our leader, is my cousin. Cassie, our animal expert is my best friend. Then theres Marco, who hardly takes anything serious and always joking in tough times, he is Jake's best friend, ever since they both were wearing Batman underwear. Tobias, a very good friend, whose had a termendos neglected past and was stuck in the morph of a red-tailed hawk for sometime, until the Ellimist had returned his power to morph. Ax, The andalite who we rescued from beneath the ocean when his escape pod had crash landed, fleeing from a Yeerk battle. Whew. Wow. Ok now that you know of our small pathetic army. I will give you the history of the Yeerk war. This can get confusing and can be long and boring, so pay attention.

Yeerk. An alien slug like species that worm their way into the brains of other creatures, melt and wrap their vile bodies around the brain and seizing total control of that individual. In their natural state, they are defensless and of no threat. Since they live their lives in the murky sludge of Yeerk pools, basking in the rays of their sun, Kadrona, they spend their days on their home planet in peace. Until their intelligence had evolved and adapted to taking over the mind and body of other species. They have enslaved many planets of alien races, dominating and spreading like a terminal disease through out the universe. It was only a matter of time until our precious planet was targeted and us made the next victims to the Yeerk empire.

We haven't been able to stop the envasion. Only continue to fight for the freedom of the human race and all of mankind. The entire human race has depended on a group of five kids and an allie alien. That group of five kids have grown now, and now we are adults. Still fighting. Still doing everything in our power to stop them.

The allie alien, Aximili-Esgarroth-Isthill. Try saying that outloud...This is why we call him Ax. Is an Andalite. Andalites. the race of aliens who have been fighting the ancient battle against the Yeerks. These shape shifting creatures, have blue-brown fur covering their centaur like bodies. They have the body kind of like a deer, and a torso similar to a humans. To weak arms, with many fingered hands. I believe I had counted seven fingers on one of Ax's hands before. Their heads are shaped alot like humans, except they have no mouths and slits in the center of their faces, instead of a nose. So to eat, they absorbe nutrients from grasses through their hooves. They have large almond shaped eyes and atop their heads are stalks topped with an eye each. These stalks swival and allow them to see in all directions at once. Now if you dont think that is weird...their prime feature is their tail...the most intimidating limb of the Andalite. Their scorpion like tail is equipped with a single scyth-like blade, that can whip at lightening speeds and send heads rolling with one lethal snap.

Ax was brother to Prince Elfangor, who had bestowed upon us the power to morph, the night of his demise. Elfangor was a warrior Prince and very proud, yet he gave to us our one and only weapon to fight the Yeerks, that fateful night we all happened to be passing through the abandoned construction site, where his battle ship crashed. I can still hear the dying screams of the War-prince as he was ripped apart by our mortal enemy, Visser Three. Visser Three, the only Yeerk to obtain an Andalite host, and the only Yeerk to posses the same power as us. The power to morph. Although we ourselves are restricted to the creatures of the land, sea and sky. Visser Three has aquired countless alien species through out the galaxy, which have proven time and time again to be extremly powerful and almost exterminating us on many occasions. But we always managed to escape barely with our lives, only to turn around and throw ourselves back into the flames of battle, with our earthen morphs against alien races.

Morphing. The power to assume the species of any animal, to aquire its DNA and become an exact clone copy, merely by touch and use that form to our bidding. Our only hope for victory, to use the borrowed forms of animals and their strengths of power, strategy, evasion and defense. Although, like all weapons, there is a limit and a consequence if not used correctly. Morphing has the time limit of two hours, after that...you are stuck as that animal forever. This fate had fallen upon Tobias early on in our battles as a red-tailed hawk. Luckily though, he was granted his morphing ability back, when we were confronted with an Ellimist. ( An extreme being that likes to play God in many cultures) Although, he has to aquire his new morphs as his original form, which is now as a red-tailed hawk. So it can get pretty awkward when we come to aquiring new morphs. Sometimes, Tobias has to sit the battles out. Since his hawk form restricts him from aquiring certain specias as...lets say...a fruit fly or something. So there you have it. Our one and only hope to victory against the Yeerks.
Many times we've wanted to give up and many times we almost had. But the love of our friends, family and planet drove us on and inspiring us to keep fighting. Even when all of this seems hopeless and a losing battle, we continue. So it's not suprising for us, Jake, Marco, Cassie, Tobias, Ax and I to find ourselves, persuing yet again, another dangerous mission. With fear in our hearts and the natural instinct for existance, we take on the enemy, in this barbaric war of survival of the fitest. Our pitiful army against an envasion of aliens...Now do you understand why there is a pack of wolves with human intellect?

CHAPTER 1

Point of view: Rachel

We paced ourselves at a decent speed, trying to cover as much ground as we could, to avoid any close encounters with being stuck as a pack of grey wolves forever. The scents of the forest and animals were greatly intensified with our wolf sense of smell. All the while, Jake, the only one with a male wolf morph, had to resist the urge to keep stopping and sniffing trees for other wolf scents.

Marco asked. < My paws feel like the are about to fall off.> We continued our way towards the open clearing nearly in the center of the forest. Jake answered him, as he stopped to sniff a tree trunk fighting the urge to lift his leg and mark this tree as his own. Of which he failed of course. Marco complained. Jake's wolf head kind of drooped in shame and his tail tucked between his legs a bit.

< He can't help it Marco, he is a dominate male wolf. It is in their nature.> Cassie implied. < Besides were almost there, we wont have to be wolves for much longer.>
I snapped at him. He trotted pass me and gave me a glaring side glance and a low growl escaped his throat.
he growled.
Jake said. We came up to the edge of the forest, where trees ended and open meadow spread across for acres. Cassie had noticed an un-natural amount of activity in this meadow one day on one of her rides with Hemitite, her old black bay gelding. She had mentioned "un-natural" animalistic type noises and the sounds of construction going on. Therefore expressing great concern to us, knowing for it could be yet another Yeerk pool or something or other to do with the envasion. There was always something...never an end to it. So, here we are, on another tiresome spy mission. As we approached the clearing, the vast green, dandolion infested meadow we expected...was no longer there. The site before us, made us stop dead in our tracks.

< Oh...my....God...> Cassie gasped.
To Be Continued.
