Eastside Cafe is very green and healthy without tasting like it.

The Emerald Restaurant is worth the drive.

European Bistro has excellent, friendly service in a quaint location.

Ruth's Chris knows what they're doing. And the creamed Spinach is great.

Vespaio's sister restaurant made an excellent fancy breakfast, so I imagine the dinner location is just as good.

Zoot was just a nice fine dining establishment. Nothing stuck out as particularly special, except that I got to have foie gras for the second time. (The first was with your husband at Mars, in the form of butter. But Mars has closed.)

All of these places have exceptionally good food and are fancy, and I recommend them.

Depending on how much you want to spend, I recommend the following (organized from least expensive to most expensive)

East Side Cafe
Uchi (show up at 5:00 and avoid both the wait and make merry use of happy hour specials - skip "dinner" and just feast on rolls)
Wink (Put yourself in the chef's hands with the tasting/pairing menu)

I like East Side Cafe too. Also Mirabelle (corner of Mesa and Spicewood Springs) and Chez Zee (2222 near Mopac) both have good food and excellent desserts.
