Seamus shot Ron a look and huddled closer to the wall as another slytherin passed, too busy gossiping to notice either of them lingering around the slytherin entrance.
He was sure Harry was going to hate him, but if it worked, it would let the others know that Harry wasn't cursed, and maybe bring him back his friends once he had proven them wrong. He was vaguely sure Harry missed his friends- or at least, Harry hadn't really mentioned it and Seamus was profficient enough in boyspeak to know that it must be hurting him for that reason alone.
Sidling closer, he shot Ron another look, not entirely certain he should trust Ron with the knowledge of the slytherin's password.
But there, if he wanted to get this over and done with, he had to say it.
"Caput Vipera," he murmured, and the hole opened a few seconds later, and he was sure he was just imagining the hesitation. It wouldn't be worried about letting them in, it couldn't possibly know that neither of them were slytherins.
Unfortunately, he stepped into the room too soon to realise that there were still people inside- people who would know very well that they weren't slytherins.
The same people he went out of his way these days to stay out of their way.
"Teddy, just give me the grape already," said a voice, and it was amused and playful in tone, but he knew it wouldn't stay that way for much longer than it took for them to see him and Ron.
Maybe they could sneak up.
Gesturing silently to Ron to follow him, Seamus started inching towards the boys staircase.
