Although Lucas wasn't the one to seek Siggy out, it doesn't mean he can't get advice from him. :o Siggy's pretty good at this sorta thing too.
Lucas: *is most pointlessly washing Cage-chan's remains and polishing its bars while speaking softly about the latest events of his life. He knows Cage-chan won't ever really hear about them, but he's sort of doing this to make up for the fact that he hadn't visited for a long time and hadn't been readily available to stop Cage-chan's suicide*
Sigurd: *had been meaning to speak to Lucas for a while, but things inexplicably kept popping up to interfere. He was searching for the boy now, roaming the castle grounds in a determined fashion. Catching sight of the other washing something, Sigurd approached, stopping a respectful distance away to speak so as to not catch Lucas completely unawares* Sir Lucas?
Lucas: *doesn't startle nor turn at the sound of Sigurd's voice, although he is surprised and curious as to why the calmer pirate decided to come see him. He finishes scrubbing that one bar of Cage-chan's before he stops, finally turning an attentive ear to Sigurd* Hello.
Sigurd: *approaches, seating himself next to Lucas, legs crossed. He offers the other a slight, polite, though genuine smile in greeting. Mostly he was there out of curiosity to see how the other was doing, since it had been a while since they last spoke* Hello. How have you been?
Lucas: *has to think a bit on that question. He sighs, putting away the cloth he used for cleaning and sits down too, leaning back against the cage bars* I'm okay, considering recent events.
Sigurd: *blinks, looks at Lucas somewhat curiously* Recent events?
Lucas: .... *half-heartedly kicks his leg, scuffing his heel against the hard ground. He doesn't know how much Sigurd knows, or if he's aware at all of what transpired between Hervey and him. Thus he elects to speak only of the most recent thing that he can come up with* Cage-chan's a regular cage now. No sentience, no free will. I lost a friend.
Sigurd: *has suspicions, though none with enough grounding that he would broach the subject out of the blue. At least, not yet anyway. Looking at Cage's remains, he gave a slight nod* I see. Is there no way to return sentience to him?
Lucas: *shakes his head regretfully. He doesn't know of any method of giving or returning sentience to objects. They just are sentient* Cage-chan left of its own will. I don't think I could force Cage-chan back into sentience even if I found a method.
Sigurd: Ah. I'm sorry for your loss. I didn't know Cage-san very well. What do you plan to do with Cage-san now?
Lucas: Take it back to my ship and give it the opportunity to see the castle from the deck. It's the only thing I can think of doing for Cage-chan.... *he sighs again, sad that is the only course of action he can come up with, but also temporarily defeated by other matters*
Sigurd: I'm sure Cage-san would be glad to know there's someone who cares so much. *looks thoughtfully at Lucas, concern evident as he studies the other for a moment in silence. Hazarding a guess, he asks* Is that all that is weighing on you, Sir Lucas?
Lucas: ...no, but there's only so much I can do about my other problem. *brief silence* Sigurd, what would you do if you loved someone who does feel for you but won't admit it to anyone, not even himself?
Sigurd: Hmm. *ponders that over for a moment, both the question and shifting other things in his mind into place* I would probably persist, but try not to come on too strongly. If he was that stubborn of a person in admitting his feelings, he probably wouldn't respond well to being excessively cornered, but neither would it do to let him off the hook to continue in denial.
Lucas: *self-mocking laugh* Maybe I shouldn't have kissed him yesterday then. *eventually, the laughter dies out, leaving the youthful captain tired and hurting. He passes a hand over his eyes, shielding them from sight* ...how well do tokens of love work in these situations?
Sigurd: How did he react to that? *frowns slightly since it's obvious that Lucas is hurting, but he isn't exactly that experienced in offering comfort to other people* Depends. What did you have in mind?
Lucas: He pushed me away. He panicked and pushed me away. *is most disheartened when he thinks back on it. It really wasn't a wise course of action, kissing Hervey like that. He lets out another sigh* And at this time of the year, I can only think of winter clothes and presents. *he wonders idly if Hervey would appreciate a supply of ascots...*
Sigurd: I see. I think the winter clothes would be fine. I think you just need to find a good balance of applying pressure without it being too much. It might seem too much like you're trying to trap him, or force things. At least, that's how I could see it.
Lucas: *half-smile, immensely deprecative* Maybe I should just act as a friend would. I bet it'd make him happy not to have to deal with love.
Sigurd: Perhaps, perhaps not. I doubt it would make him happy exactly, just would offer him the option of escape route. Though, trying to make him deal with it is obviously not making you happy.
Lucas: *closes his eyes tight and holds back the urge to go emo and dramatic. That never helps him.* I just want things the way they were.
Sigurd: What caused them to end up the way they are now?
Lucas: ........................I want to say that we share the blame, but I think I pressed his buttons too much, too soon.
Sigurd: Ah... it's hard to say exactly what to do. Normally I would advise giving it time, but if he is intent on running away that would probably not help matters.
Lucas: ......So push, but only in an gentle manner and over a great period of time?
Sigurd: Given how he's reacted to the more forceful advances, I think that might be the best course of action.
Lucas: ... *just has to sigh to that* I so get to throttle him when this is all over.
Sigurd: Yes, you do. Just think of that as a reward for your patience.
Lucas: *quick smile* Right. *straightens up from his leaning against the cage, looking less lost, if anything* You'd think the sledgehammer approach would work with someone like him. Really.
Sigurd: Sometimes with matters like this it changes what usual methods would be effective. Or at least, I imagine it's hard when it's something you're most likely afraid of admitting.
Lucas: *thoughtful silence* ......Definitely get to throttle him.
Sigurd: Yep. Once you get through all of this.
Lucas: *turns to look at Siggy* Would you hold him down while I throttle him?
Sigurd: If that becomes necessary.
Lucas: It might not. *especially if he gets to sit down on Hervey to keep him in place* But it's nice having a contingency plan?
Sigurd: Indeed. However I can be of assistance, please do not hesitate to tell me.
Lucas: Thanks. *smiles much more naturally, nodding* I think you'll be the first I'll contact, Siggy.
Sigurd: *returns the smile with one of his own, giving Lucas a friendly pat on the shoulder* I hope everything works out for the best for the both of you.
Lucas: I hope so too.
