My optometrist says I've got presbyopia. Does that mean I see Presbyterians everywhere?
Or maybe it was Presley-opia -- the rare and strange condition of Elvis-eye.
Either of the above sounds more fanciful than "you're getting old."
But I love my optometrist, Dr. Zahka of Westwood. He's got such a calming manner, which helped after I was late due to not planning for morning rush hour traffic.
I was also calmed and cheered by the Maxfield Parrish poster in the glaucoma testing room; I'm probably one of few clients who notices the art in such places! It was one I'd never seen before... kind of a straight landscape rather than having fantasy overtones, but those signature colors were what made it call out to me. Wish I'd taken note of the title.
