Summary: Everybody was young, curious and prone to bad decisions at least once in their lifetime, right? This is the story of when Asuza and Marie tried to find out about Mira's bandages.

“Why are you always wearing those bandages, Ms. Nygus?” asked Tsubaki.
Mira stopped what she was doing for a few seconds to look at Tsubaki. She decided that the girl’s concern was genuine and proceeded to finish patching up Black Star’s latest injury.
“There’s a pretty interesting story behind that. In fact, why don’t you ask Ms. Mjolnir and Ms. Asuza?”
As if on cue, the gang looked over to the pair of death scythes just as they walked into the infirmary. Marie and Yumi looked at the school nurse in surprise. They had been caught completely off guard.
“W-What?” asked a surprised Marie. She heard the question, but wasn’t really prepared to answer.
“I don’t think this is the appropriate moment, Mira,” said a very stern Yumi Asuza.
“Aww, but we really wanna know!” yelled out Black Star.
“Why can’t you tell us?” asked Maka.
Marie looked around only to see that the students had completely surrounded her and Asuza and were now looking at them expectantly. She looked over at Mira, who was putting away some supplies and smiling mischievously. Defeated, the death scythes looked at each other in defeat and decided to tell the story of why Mira Nygus wore bandages.

Well, when we were students in Shibusen-
“How many years ago?” asked Soul.
“That doesn’t matter,” snapped Marie.
Ehm, sorry. When Yumi and I were students, we shared a dorm room together and Mira was in a newer class. We were really good students, like you all should be. And we studied really hard; in fact, why don’t I tell you about that really good project me and Yumi did where we got a really good score and…
The gang did not look amused. Did she really have to tell them that particular story?
Well, to be honest, we really wanted to know about her bandages too so we started asking around. It turns out nobody else knew either so we decided to investigate ourselves. At that time, Yumi found out about her powers, so…
“You never used them to spy on anybody?” interrupted Soul.
A long and awkward pause filled the air.
“Ahem, I had begun using them accordingly, so that I could help investigate some happenings with the witches,” said Yumi while straightening her jacket.
Marie cleared her throat and continued:
I don’t remember this next part very well, but something happened and I had to help Yumi get some work done quickly so she could investigate some things.
“Investigate the witches?”
Um, yes! Right. It was an assignment, you see, a mission. And it was very important and we really had to get this work done quickly so that we could do it and help our school.
“What was the mission, what did the witches do?” asked Maka. Why were they asking so many questions today?
“That’s confidential,” blurted out Yumi. “We can’t tell you what it was, we’re ordered not to say anything.”
“But you were telling us the other day about the mission you had in China a few years ago.” said Maka.
“Well, this one is different. We can’t tell you anything about it.” said Yumi, waving her hand nervously.
“So, how did you find out about Ms. Nygus’ bandages?” asked Tsubaki.
In that moment, Marie Mjolnir and Yumi Asuza looked at each other blankly.
“To be honest, we don’t really remember,” said Marie, trying to contain her embarrassment.
“What about the mission? Did you catch the witches?” asked Black Star.
“I’ll tell you what happened.”
The group turned around and looked at the doorway to see Shinigami standing there. Marie and Yumi’s faces turned red as they braced themselves for the inevitable.

Yumi Asuza and Marie Mjolnir were pretty young at the time, both about 13 years old. They were good students; at least everybody thought they were.
Yumi had just discovered that she could see beyond the walls of her classroom and spy on other people from a distance. She liked to do this often to find out what was going on and what the teacher’s were going to include on their tests.
Marie, on the other hand, had speed and strength on her side. She could increase her meister’s speed by incredible amounts. She found out that she could also use this ability on weapons, like herself.
They were pretty curious when Mira showed up for class one day. They wanted to find out why she wore those bandages, partly out of curiosity and partly because they could.
The semester was reaching its end and the students would all go on vacation soon. Before any of that happened though, they had to hand in a research project. The day before the deadline, Marie and Yumi saw the perfect opportunity to find out what was underneath Mira’s bandages. Marie still hadn’t finished and Yumi was only halfway done. It was the perfect opportunity for Marie’s powers to shine.
Mira was on her way to her dorm room. Marie and Yumi were hiding out near her building. They had found out that her dorm was way on the other side of town. Everything was going surprisingly well; that is, until the witches showed up. They panicked and tried to run off, but the gang of witches, about six of them, caught up. A few seconds later, Mira noticed the scuffle going on in the street and contacted Shinigami. Five minutes later, half of the school faculty showed up to help out the students. That didn’t mean they were safe and sound, however. The teachers took them in and started questioning them. Both of them confessed to spying on Mira. They got one heck of a speech after that, with a warning that if they got into trouble again, they would be suspended.
It didn’t end there, though. The research project they finished in haste was handed in and they were called in because of the atrocious grade they had gotten. It turns out Marie’s powers could help do everything faster, but that didn’t mean it would turn out well. They were both taken to Shinigami’s office, and luckily, he had seen their potential and decided not to suspend them.
The room had erupted into gales of laughter as the real story was told.
“Really?” Asked an incredulous Tsubaki. “Did Ms.Mjolnir and Ms. Asuza really do that?”
“Kids will be kids.” answered Shinigami in their defense.
“That doesn’t mean you kids are excused, though,” added Yumi.
“So you never really found out why, Ms. Nygus uses those bandages,” said Tsubaki. “That’s a shame, I was really curious.”
“Why do you use them?” asked Maka.
“Do you really want to know?”
The group, Marie and Yumi included, nodded. They waited expectantly for her to reveal a gruesome injury, but she simply smiled and said:
“I just like the way they look.”
