Festivids letter!
(Hi! I will do a regular post here someday soon but I need to start here.)
Dear Festividder,
Hello! Thank you for making a vid JUST FOR ME. I am excited to see what you come up with! I come from a place of love with my fannish picks, so if you find that spark of what you love about the fandom you pick, we'll be good (even if it's a sad love). I am super easy to please, and I'm thrilled you're going to vid one of these below fandoms. BUT, if you're looking for further information, I've blathered on a little more specifically below!
General Notes
I love all kinds of vids: slow vids, fast vids, funny vids, serious vids. Vids with lots of effects. Vids with no effects. Vids that use fades between clips, vids that have text, vids that use non-traditional music. I am willing to be sold on your vision, Festividder! I don't have any visual triggers or things that give me headaches, in case you're wondering.
I also love all kinds of music, except for screaming death metal and...that's pretty much it. (And even that, if applied with a light touch, could work.) In past years there have been particular bands that I've asked my Festividder not to use, but I actually don't even care about that anymore. If you have a really great song idea for one of my beloved fandoms, GO FOR IT. As long as you are feeling the source/song combo, I will feel it, too. My only musical caveats tend to be don't use music from the source itself for that source's vid (see: Hamilton). But I've noted that below.
I seriously love music of all stripes, from rap to soft rock to 80s pop to early years Metallica. I love discovering new music through vids, so please delve into your playlist and see what you can find. I also love musicals and have several vid ideas myself that use songs from kid's shows, so honestly I am VERY OPEN on music choice.
I don't have anything I particularly can't handle in terms of content in the fandoms I picked. If it's IN the source, I'm okay with it. While pretty much all of my requests tend to be on the lighter or funnier side, if you have a serious vid that fits the source, please feel free to make that! I have no qualms about crying over Festivids. Hell, I know it's Festivids time when fan_eunice makes me cry! I guess my only really strict request here is that if you use outside source for some reason, PLEASE don't put any animals or children being harmed or killed. I can't imagine why you WOULD, but I want us to have good communication, Festividder.

Animals Are Beautiful People (1974) [Movie]

GASP I didn't realize this movie was nominated until JUST THIS SECOND. Oh my goodness, I remember this movie SO VIVIDLY from my childhood, especially the part where they all get drunk. Good times, good times. I would love to see anything for this.

I really don't have much else to say about this. Isn't there a thing with a stinkbug in this movie? ANYWAY: animals ARE beautiful people. I am so curious about what type of vid would come from this movie, but I guarantee I'd love it.
Frasier (1993) [TV]

Anything celebrating the wackiness of the show would be great. I'm a sucker for Kelsey Grammar's big expressions, so anything playing off of his faces would be great, too. I love all the characters (except Donnie and Mal, so please leave them out)! I don't particularly ship anybody. I love the brothers' relationship and the family in general.
Extra notes:
I definitely would prefer a gen vid for this show instead of shipping anybody. Unless it's the beautiful pure love of Martin and Eddie. Hee. But a touching family vid would be lovely, too - including Daphne not just as Niles' wife but as an integral part of the family on her own. Or just the three boys! I never expect this fandom to be picked so just getting a Frasier vid would knock me flat.
Galavant [TV]

This show made me so happy in season 1. I love all the characters, the silly stories, the delightful dancing, you name it.
Extra notes:
I love love LOVE the characters on this show - so please nothing that is hateful towards any of them, not even Madalena! A vid about the sheer wackiness could be fun, or something serious about the King and his problems or a shippy Galavant/Isabella vid. A dancing vid! A Sid vid! I'm open to any and all of these.
Hamilton (Broadway Musical) [Audio, Performance]

Nothing from the musical itself, otherwise no restrictions.

HAMILTON ATE MY LIFE. I don't even know how you would make this vid or what you would use to do it, but please do it. Do it for me. Do it for Lin-Manuel Miranda who would appreciate it. Do it for my Twitter list who is probably sick to death of me talking about the show and at least this way I could distract them with a shiny vid.
Extra notes:
I don't know why I used the past tense "ate" when Hamilton continues to eat my life and probably will for the forseeable future (SORRY TWITTER FRIENDS; your turn is coming, LJ/DW friends!). My one strong request for this fandom is please don't demonize anyone (except Thomas Jefferson, but even then Daveed Diggs is a DELIGHT). A dot Burr is a complicated character and A dot Ham is not an innocent bystander in all this. Otherwise: GO FOR IT. I could not be happier than getting a Hamilton vid, especially if you somehow managed to find more source than just the 10 minute B roll (which, if you do: hook me up??) Outside source welcomed!
King's Quest Series [Game]

I played this series religiously growing up - I started with KQ IV and worked my way both backward and forward. I would love love love to see anything about this series, whatever you could dream up. (Even gentle, loving mocking for the early CGI graphics would be fine, as long as it's loving mocking.)

I seriously don't know how you would vid this, so please show me? Because I feel like it would make me SO HAPPY. I grew up with those CGI graphics, and remember them fondly.
Last Week Tonight with John Oliver [TV]

I...really don't have much else to say? His face is pretty frigging great, but you could do something serious that looks at the issues he's raised and that would be cool, too. Don't be afraid to go political for this one! (I'm a liberal, if you're curious.)
Love It Or List It [TV]

I loooooooove this show, particularly David and Hillary's adorable friendship/fake-fighting. A vid about them being dorks and also super good at their jobs would make me so happy. I initially signed up for Festivids this year just so I could request this fandom.
Extra notes:
It's true this fandom is the reason I signed up for Festivids this year. It's my meditative place right now when I'm overwhelmed with life. I especially would love the David and Hillary vid, but a Hillary Being Awesome vid (having to deal with homeowners who don't understand that sometimes SHIT HAPPENS and you have to pay for it!) or David's amazing looks to the camera while taking buyers through houses vid would also be excellent.
The Persuaders! (1971) [TV]

I love these idiots and Danny's fashion sense and Brett's hair and the ladies and the cars and the show's everything. Would prefer something happy, but my ultimate deal-breaker is that ultimately Danny and Brett need to be together in some format. Otherwise, I will take whatever you've got for them!

Seriously please don't break up Danny and Brett permanently in the vid. Heh. Character vids, a shippy vid, a world vid (cars; women; clothes) - I just need more Persuaders vids in my life!
