Now you can't get me to shut up

Good morning! I've been up since 6am because my cats are jerks. That's ok; it's allowing me to get caught up on all of the stuff I've missed.

For instance, oxoniensis is running The Fall Fandom Free-For-All challenge. From the post:

This is a multifandom, fanworks, free-for-all! Basically, request any piece of fanwork you would like - fic, art, icons, video - in any fandom. In return, you offer to make something for someone else.

This is the opportunity to see that fic you've always wanted written, to clear the pipes of your own unused ideas by making someone else write them for you, to get new icons for the new season, or to find a beta reader for that story you have languishing on your harddrive!

There are already 8 pages of comments, so lots to browse and play around with.

Prison Break stars on MONDAY. Eeeeeeeeeeee. In preparation, you can watch Prison Break - 3 Seasons in 3 Minutes (Sort of) on YouTube. It's very spoilery, so if you're planning on watching the show, I don't recommend it. But if you're interested in jumping in for season 4 with no backstory, it's a decent primer.

Via sherrold, here is a really neat article about the lure of Seattle.

The galpalficathon will start collecting prompts September 2. All of the details can be found here!

DS Match has started posting! You can follow along by using this tag. I haven't read a single fic, but DS fandom rocks, so I can guarantee you'll find some amazing stuff. And don't forget to vote! And comment! The authors have worked really hard on these and they have to post anonymously and that can't be easy.

And on a related note, ds_recsredux is holding the DS Match Recvitational. The top three reccers will win a fabulous prize!

Bumbershoot starts today. There is a lot of tempting stuff there, ESPECIALLY Kathleen Edwards on-stage tomorrow at 3:15pm omg. And then the Weakerthans at 6:45. And John Vanderslice, the Flobots, and Death Cab on Monday. Hm. *checks wallet*

AHH and I have now seen through 3x02 of Six Feet Under. Still love and adore the show. One thing AHH and I talked about with SFU last night is the way it really seems to be trying to show realistic relationships. They've struck a nice balance between the Joss Whedon EVERYONE IS DOOMED side and the stereotypical Hollywood It's Always Awesome side, which I appreciate. Newsflash, Hollywood: Relationships are work! But they can be worth it! Heh. I really love Keith and David going to couples counseling (and, omg, how adorable are they, when they're not dysfunctional? SO ADORABLE).

Claire continues to break my heart and make me happy by turns (though, hell, they all do, honestly - though Ruth leans heavily on the breaking my heart side of things). I'm glad Rico is a partial partner now but I have to agree with David that the moral superiority is getting excessive. I was sad to see Taylor go down to San Diego with Keith's parents because I liked her, and David + kids = Awesomesauce. Keith's story is making me sad; he's so unhappy as a security guard, so I'd like him to find some balance in his life. Nate is just...I can't believe he married Lisa. Lisa is kind of the bad version of AHH and me, so that's been quite the eye-opener. Heh. Their baby is super-cute.

Ruth, Ruth, Ruth. She's really pushing at her boundaries, testing out her world. It's neat to see, even if so much of her growth is painful.

Oh, Fishers. ♥

Ok. Time to go get food and probably watch another episode of SFU. :)

Happy birthday to ifreet! And happy yesterday birthday to pukajen!
