Things I honestly never get tired of:
how often Ryan Leaf is always at least in the top 3 worst draft picks of all time. That's my team!
I walked through bubbles on Bourbon Street last night. Bubbles and shouting and music and so many people. It was raucous and smelly and a little bit intimidating, but it was fun. Today we went to the aquarium and also watched
Hurricane on the Bayou (stunning and incredibly moving), and then I walked alone all around the French Quarter for ninety minutes, through the shops and the music (oh the music - I blew a bunch of money on music from street musicians & the movie soundtrack today. I shouldn't have, but I can't help myself). I was searching for ice cream, but came away with only dark chocolate mint bark. It was yummy, but didn't fill the ice cream hole in my stomach.
Still. Music and chocolate and the warm sun shining down. I'd call the day a success. In fact, the following link (via
tzikeh), kind of perfectly sums up how I feel:
I love the world. And here, share a taste of the music I found:
Tab Benoit - "Fever for the Bayou" (I've been listening to this song all afternoon! It ROCKS. I really really recommend you grab this one.)
Mother Tongue - "Swing Low, Sweet Chariot" Happy birthday to
psychicnagger! Now, time to go get some food and then settle down and watch more Arrested Development. ("There's been a lot of lies in this family." "And a lot of love." "Mostly lies." Oh, show. How so hilarious?)
