My weekend = awesome
Hiya LJ! I had a fun weekend full of a high amount of media consumption.
Saturday, brynnmck, jarrow272, and I watched more of Season 1 of Sports Night. I've seen through "Shoe Money Tonight" now and I have to say that WOW are Dan and Casey gay for each other. I wasn't seeing it, actually, until "Thespis," when it pretty much hits you over the head at how much Dan is being the stereotypical nagging wife and how Casey, oh, I don't know, decided to stay with Danny and host the sports instead of taking a national talk show and also pissing off his wife.
However, I also kind of love the idea of Dana and Casey, too. Jeremy is so completely made of awesome that I just kind of melt every time he's onscreen. Natalie is also entirely made of awesome, so the two of them together is pretty much gold. It's a fun show, with the trademark Sorkin dialogue and emotional moments, and I'm quite enjoying it. I also, OF COURSE, quite enjoyed my time with brynn and jarrow.
Does anyone have any Sports Night vid recs? I always go to vids before fic, I can't help it.
I'm also looking for some good Prison Break vid recs, preferably not Michael/Sara because 90% of the vids on pb_vids are Michael/Sara and I'd love to see something else. Anything else, especially stuff with C-Note or Mahone. I actually spent a lot of time Sunday watching Season 2 PB vids now that we've finished the season.
Then Sunday night, AHH and I finally went to see Transformers and, having appropriately lowered my expectations, I loved it. Mostly, I think, because Optimus Prime didn't die this time. *g* And also because I liked the boy-and-his-first-car story and Shia LeBouf is entirely charming and the movie was a lot funnier than I thought it would be and Sucre was in it!
I went in really wanting to see cars turn into giant robots and as I got that in spades - AND IT WAS AWESOME - I was happy. I could watch Optimus Prime all day. Truly. And I loved when they were all hiding around Sam's house. Hee.
Then AHH and I came home and decided to watch the animated original Transformers: the Movie because, yes, we own it. It was better than I thought it was going to be, but there was still quite a lot of WTF-ery and at one point I asked AHH if they were on crack because the Junkyons dancing around with the Autobots was hilariously awful. And I also mocked Ultra Magnus through most of the movie because he truly might be the Worst Leader Ever. "I can't deal with this right now!" That's the cry of a mighty warrior, you guys.
Then AHH and I watched the fan commentary, which was extremely entertaining and informative, and we talked over and over and over about how shocking it was that Optimus Prime died and I seriously cannot put into words how shocking that was to a child. You don't kill Optimus Frigging Prime! AND Megatron (although at least he did become Galvatron, but STILL).
We shall not discuss how much "Rodimus Prime" makes me snicker because I AM TWELVE.

Now for the linking/pimping portion part of our day. Let's start with the big news that I am sure most of you have already heard:
Farscape has been signed for 10 live-action webisodes to air on SciFi pulse.
I...don't know what I think about that yet. I'm so shocked to hear it I think my brain seized up. I want to wait to hear more details before I go either way with my opinion.
Can you believe the final Harry Potter book comes out in five days? Potterdammerung is almost here! Also, apparently the first half of the book has already been scanned and uploaded to the Internet, but I'm not linking to that because it, bizarrely, really pisses me off. Why can't people just wait the last few days?
