killabeez: In honor of the birthday boy, post one of your favorite Sam Winchester quotes in your LJ.
"Hope's kinda the whole point."
Oh, Sammy.
Is anybody else watching Survivorman on the Discovery channel? It's neat! And it's rife with fic possibilities. We watched one last night where he was surviving in the Canadian Arctic, Nunavut to be exact. It's like a Due South story waiting to happen.
And in American Idol news -
I liked Blake's performance last night but I still irrationally dislike him. I can't help it! I adore Melinda more and more every single week, which doesn't seem like it should be possible. I hope Chris R. is going home tonight. I think it will be Phil and...hm. If last week's results were true and Jordin was really in the bottom two, then I think she's going home, too. Jon Bon Jovi seemed pretty awesome, which was nice.
Oops, posted before I was ready.
Jacob recapped last week's Idol Gives Back show over at TWoP and I've got thoughts spinning out from it, things I think I want to do, but first I want to share this bit from the very end with you.
Every movement that ever worked came from civil movements, from compassion, from working smarter and not harder, from working every day with your hands to build a better future for everybody, not just people like you. Every movement that ever backlashed came from thinking your shouts outweighed everybody else -- that your pain was louder or stronger or more worthy of being satisfied, just because it was yours. Every war that ever happened came from a simple trick of memory: that any amount of difference could ever outweigh the things we have in common. Everything that bridges that gap is just a process of remembering to bridge the gap; to remind the people around you that it doesn't exist. To remember the possibility of joy. Every bit of pain that ever happened to anybody in the world resulted from just this: the sin, the cancer, the awful confusion and heavy responsibility of ever thinking you were alone. You aren't. You never were.
