So hum hallelujah, just off the key of reason

Wow, well, this was my weekend to be overwhelmed by fandom. Heh.

First I was overwhelmed with gratitude by the comments I received on musesfool's love meme. Thank you so much - it was wonderful to come home from my business trip on Saturday and see such nice things. I'm sad because I didn't get a chance to comment on nearly the amount of people I wanted to before the meme closed, and then I saw that there's another one! So I shall do better there, I hope.

And then last night you guys made me tear up with your responses to You Can Call Me. I feel like Sally Fields: "You like it! You really like it!" This vid has been one long flight into joy, and sharing that joy with you all has made it even sweeter. Thank you.

To top it off, you guys were making your own letters of joy!

In honor of fandom and the love meme, barkley made a video that is hilarious and yet also beautifully full of truth and love.

simplystars pimped Slings & Arrows in such a way as made me want to watch it yet again.

synecdochic wrote a fandom love letter that says all I feel and more about what I get from fandom.

Fandom could make me happier, but it would be damn hard at this point. And considering I woke up (for no reason at all) at 4:45 this morning, it's a good thing fandom is so awesome. *g*

In non-fannish news, Friday I saw Music & Lyrics, which I thoroughly enjoyed. Especially for the music and songwriting aspects, but I thought Hugh Grant and Drew Barrymore had excellent chemistry, too. And last night AHH & I re-watched Stranger Than Fiction, which I really enjoyed seeing again.

Things I intend to do now that my vid is finished, as a reminder to myself:

- Start CV vid
- Start other CV vid
- Put up S&A transcripts that I've received (yay!)
- Finish my S&A transcripts (*shame*)
- Make S&A caps/icons using brynn's DVDs
- Cap/icon "Hunting Season" because Maggie is FTW
- Finish The Wire pimping post (no, really!)
- Cap/icon Stranger Than Fiction
- Do a couple of piano phone posts; or at least one
- Finish at least one of my ds_harlequin ideas. *checks calendar* Aiee.

And work, of course. Always work.

Finally, before I go get breakfast, brynnmck wrote her first Kowalski ficlet, You Never Get A Second Chance. It's a Kowalski & Welsh gen story, where Ray first gets his assignment. Remarkably funny with that touch of angst.

I also riffed off of this story to write Kowalski/Welsh making out because...um...because I can. With brynn's BLESSING, I'm sharing that here with you all. Lucky you! Hee.

Kowalski & Welsh crack fic

He reached out, closed his fingers around the folder. "Yeah. Yeah, I'm ready."

Welsh covered Kowalski's hand with his own, and it was huge, like a bear paw except without all the fur and three-inch long claws. "There's one more thing, Detective," Welsh rumbled in a voice that was dark with, well. Ray didn't consider himself into guys like Welsh most of the time, but the gun looked pretty hot on his big frame, and it had been months since he'd last even kissed anyone.

"Yeah, Lieu?"

Welsh's hand tightened on Ray's, and Ray would've said Welsh was cutting off the blood to Ray’s hand, except all of his blood had flown southward for the summer. "Call me Harding," Welsh purred.

Harding. Ok, it wasn't a great name, didn't roll off the tongue or nothing, but it fit how Ray's dick was feeling. There had to be some sort of cosmic reason for all that and Ray and his sex drive were willing to find out what.

"Ok, uh, Harding."

Welsh's thick fingers closed around Ray's wrist and tugged a little, hardly anything at all, but Ray was suddenly leaning forward over the desk. Welsh--Harding, Ray reminded himself--mirrored his forward movement until they were inches from each other. "Are you ready for this?" he asked, his breath hitting Ray's face. It was pretty clear Welsh wasn't talking about the Vecchio gig any longer. "You don't have to do this, detective," he added.

Ray nodded once, licked his lips enough to get them working again. "Yeah I, I know that Lieu- Harding." Ray lifted himself out of the chair so he could put more conviction into his leaning. "I don't got any problems with it." He licked his lips again, and finally pressed his lips to the other man's.

Welsh's lips were weirdly soft, like a girl's. Kind of a big girl, but Ray liked all sorts of women. And men. Welsh's fingers were tight on Ray's wrist and there was noise and laughter from outside behind Welsh's closed door and Welsh was a damn good kisser. Ray chalked another one up to the 'Take the gig' file. Ray put his hand on Harding's shoulder, and even with his long fingers he could barely reach around it. They were leaning into each other now, holding each other up mostly by the pressure of their lips. Ray was trying not to moan but he could feel it in his throat. His body giving him away again, always.

And it was, as always, Welsh who pulled away from Ray first. He was flushed and wide-eyed, which Ray took as a personal win. Welsh released Ray’s wrist, gently stroked the red band he’d left behind, and then settled back in his chair. “Nine a.m. tomorrow, Detective.”

Ray was still leaning over the desk, so he straightened himself - straightened his jeans, too - and nodded. They were back on working ground, he could feel it beneath his boots, even though his body was fizzing even higher than before. It was a good fizz, a fizz he knew well. “Yeah. Nine a.m.” He made a finger gun at Welsh, set it off. “See you tomorrow, Lieu.”

This was gonna be a hell of a gig.
