Number of times you’ve seen the whole series (to your best estimate): I'm not sure. Probably 10 times? And scattered re-watching of particular episodes throughout.
Number of times you’ve seen the movie: Eight, I think, given I saw it four times in the theater. Including the early screening.
Favorite character: Mal. Always Mal.
Least favorite character: Saffron, actually. She never pinged for me.
Favorite episode: "Out of Gas"
Least favorite episode: Oh, gosh. Probably...hm. Today it's probably "Heart of Gold."
Favorite quote: Wow this is hard. It's got to be Mal's speech at the end of Serenity though, about love. Or maybe it's his last words to Simon at the end of "Serenity" (heh). "We're still flying." "That's not much." "It's enough." Or Wash saying "have you ever been with a warrior woman?" Or Jayne saying "Pain is scary." Or Book or Kaylee or River (the quote about the cows? I love that quote to pieces) or Inara or Simon ("it was my birthday") or Zoe ("she's tore up, but she'll fly true" or "I can't wait to retire and give up this life of crime"). I can't choose!
Favorite scene: Mal seeing Serenity for the first time. This one was easy. :) (I also, in my mind, tie it too right before when the whole crew is gathered there around him. They're all entwined and it's five minutes of pure, true love for me.)
Your opinion of the movie: love it, shove it, or mixed feelings: Love it.
Favorite canon pairing: Zoe and Wash
Favorite non-canon pairing: Ooh, uh, probably Jayne/Kaylee, actually. Or Simon/Inara.
In brief, what got you hooked?: Ironically, given my least favorite character, "Our Mrs. Reynolds." It was the very first episode I watched, while it was airing on Fox, and the humor grabbed me right away and I was anxious to see next week's episode. I became fully fannish the moment Mal smacked Jayne across the face with the wrench in "Ariel." It's been love ever since.
Your favorite theory on Book’s background: I don't know. I was going to say ex-Operative on the run, but then why wouldn't the Alliance have held onto him if he had an ident card that got him that kind of medical care? Hm.
Your favorite theory on Inara’s reasons for leaving Sihnon: I don't know. She killed someone? Heh. I've got nothing.
Will Mal and Inara ever get together?: Yes. But I don't ever see them making any sort of official commitment like getting married. I do see them staying on Serenity together, seeing over "their" crew, in a sort of commonwealth marriage.
Will Simon and Kaylee stay together?: No, but I don't think it will be an acromonious split, either. I believe they'll be friends afterwards.
Will River stay (or get) on the road to mental health? Yes, I do. And I think it's "stay," not "get."
Favorite Firefly fanfic: brynnmck's Every New Leaf (set post-Serenity; Mal/Inara; gorgeous)
Is Firefly your main fandom now? No. And so far as interaction is concerned, it never really was my main fandom. But it's the show of my heart, and while other shows may share residence, it'll always have been the first, the brightest.
What are your top 2 other fandoms?: Due South, obviously. And whatever I'm watching at the moment. Heh. (Like how I side-stepped that?)
The Chargers finally went with Norv Turner for their head coach. I am cautiously optimistic. Norv was offensive coordinator in LT's rookie year in 01 and I was really sad when they fired Mike Riley and went - ironically - with Schottenheimer instead of Turner. Turner's previous head coaching jobs have been kind of dismal. But he hasn't had this level of talent before. It could go really well for us, so I'm hopeful. Mildly. This team loves to break my heart.
