IJVP - Day 6! "Restless" (BSG)

Welcome to IJVP Day 6! I made it! Heh.

The sixth vidlet was suggested by suenix, it's a BSG vid to Tom McRae's, "For the Restless."

I don't really know what else I can say except that this vid made me intensely uncomfortable. Hee. But I mean that in a good way! It was so dreamy and distorted and startling, it really did make me feel like I hadn't slept for days. You just completely nailed the mood.

Things I especially loved: Baltar as the faithless, and Roslin as the believer. And something about that shot of Cally with the big dark circles under her eyes just hit me right in the gut. Agh.

One of my favorite things about "33" is that overwhelming tension and exhaustion and feeling of being on edge, and you distilled it perfectly into a minute. Excellent. :)

Thank you so much for this.
I always " saw " this episode when hearing
this song. It is thrilling to see it for real.

The color fades and blurs were very effective.
The shot of the dead soldier photo on " peaceful
sleepers was powerful.

Most of the movement here comes in the subtle personal
gestures of the people. All the hands to face moments
were perfect.

And I also love the disolve from the clock to Lee. When his eyes
open there my breath catches.

Once again, Thanks. I REALLY needed this tonight. We are
trapped in dress rehearsal hell this week and it was
lovely to come home and find this.

Ah, 33, classic BSG. I really liked the black and white in the beginning. And I liked the dissolves, especially that one with Kara. Favorite moment? Like the commenter above, minute :48, something about the dissolve from clock into slowmo Lee and then the lyric “restless” at the moment works for me.

I know you’re learning from this, but I'm really enjoying your vidlets.
