San Diego's Comic-Con 2008 is in JUST A FEW DAYS!!!! I'm stoked.
I will be in San Diego Wednesday night (July 23), and will be attending the convention on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday (July 24 - 26).
After much tough consideration, I have finally narrowed down which PANELS AND PREMIERES I will be attending!
The Day The Earth Stood Still and Max Payne, Red Sonja, Dexter, Robotech, The Hobbit, Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe, Jim Lee, Ghostbusters, World of Warcraft, Xbox Live, Kevin Smith/Frank Miller, Prison Break, Next Avengers: Heroes of Tomorrow premiere, Heroes, Terminator: Salvation, Grant Morrison/Gerard Way, The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emporer and Death Race, Underworld: Rise of the Lycans, Quarantine and Pineapple Express, Mutant Chronicles premiere...
...and of course...
The Lost Boys 2: The Tribe premiere!
Yes, I know what a lot of you are thinking. And you know, to be very honest, I'm walking into this movie without high expectations at all, to put it nicely. However, being a HUGE fan of the original movie, and growing up on it... it's just the principle of the matter, really.
Speaking of the sequel, it will officially be RELEASED IN STORES on JULY 29th. On the Bonus Features, you will be able to find the video for the Cave Club Mix of the original theme song, "Cry Little Sister" by the wonderful
G Tom Mac boys! (Plus, if you look hard enough, you will find me and a few friends in some of the shots, haha)
Aside from panel hopping, I have also made sure to make some time to go BOOTH AND TABLE hopping. Although there is a long, long list of them that I plan on checking out, my top priorities are with my friends (old and new) that I suggest you check out if you are attending this year, as well! Please check out my friends...
BOOTH C06- WAR MACHINE MARKETING: This belongs to one of THE absolutely best bosses I have ever had in my life so far (who has also been quite the amazing friend to me, as well), Ro Kohli! You may know him from his past with RoadRunner Records or Century Media; and we worked quite well together reconstructing the street marketing department at Warner Bros. Records once upon a time. War Machine will be there to promote Black Chapel and Anthony Clarkson, as well as selling assorted DVDs, CDs, toys, etc. They will also be giving out Metal Edge and Metal Maniacs magazines, each with sampler CDs!
BOOTH J05- LEVEL 27 CLOTHING / PRA INTERNATIONAL: Here, they will be selling a lot of their clothes and giving away plenty of promo items. They will also have a Daniel the Turtle Comic-Con EXCLUSIVE-- a gold color Daniel the Turtle. Only 100 made and you can ONLY get them at San Diego Comic-Con and at their booth! Billy Martin (of Good Charlotte) will have a few pieces of his artwork for sale at this booth, as well... and for those who will be in attendance on Sunday, Billy himself will be there for a signing at 3 PM.
BOOTH 3749, 3751- SHOUT! FACTORY: where you will be able to find Gavin from the
Motor City Comics, and a bunch of other cool stuff
here.
BOOTH 3531- FULL MOON FEATURES: Here you will be able to find a variety of replicas INCLUDING PUPPETMASTER replicas!!!
BOOTH 207- SHRINE: I'm sure they'll have plenty o' goodies... but more importantly, go say hello and keep my good friend
Jeffrey Damnit company.
Also be on the lookout for Spider (from Powerman 5000) as he will be out at the convention on Thursday and Friday as a correspondent for FEARNET.
Nick DeStefano and Jon Rivera from
HEARTBREAK COMICS.
If you happen to figure out who
Cartoon Tom is (who has drawn me a couple times in the past) at the convention, wish him a Happy Birthday on Saturday, July 26th!
Also be on the lookout for my Lost Angels boys,
James &
Alex Valhouli.
SEE YOU GUYS SOON!!
(...Oh, and somewhere in there I will also be at the MAXIM party...)
