I know I've been AWOL, as I tend to do from time to time, and I always make a "come back". Today is no different...

So I just got back from the movies with my mom. We went to see "New Moon". I didn't go to see Twilight to the movies, but ended up watching it on our flat screen (42", dude!!! I love it so!), which was as close to the big screen as one can get. *g* Anyway, I'm not really into the whole "in love with a vampire, it really is a tragedy" at least from the movie. I'm sure the books are moving and I might even like them, but the movie? I don't know. I don't do romantic movies, mostly because I laugh at the most "romantic" movies. I was laughing at Jack's face when he died and Rose had to let him go down... I'm weird like that. Karen and Pedro HATE it when I laugh at the most "heartfelt" moments. I've always thought it's because of the whole writing thing. You know how to write a scene to make it mushy... but not TOO mushy, and for me, most scenes, are too mushy. The whole "lying on the ground with Edward and flowers everywhere" bit? TOO MUSHY. But then again, that's just me.

However, and this is a big however, the character of Alice and how she predicted that her and Bella were going to be best friends and then were, that really caught my attention. So now I wanna read the books. I don't know if they will capture me, mostly because the thing about watching the movie first is that the movie is always, ALWAYS, paced a lot faster than the book. If the book goes too slow, then it doesn't hold me captive. That happened with The Lord of the Rings. I tried to read it after the movie, and living the shire took FREAKING FOREVER so I kinda gave up on that.

I'm downloading the books to my Blackberry and... well, we'll see what happens with the being captivated by the books or not. *g*

That said, I think I have another chapter of A Shadow Across to go over and hopefully post soon! *g*
