Okay, Concrete 1....
I might not have aced it (only nerds do that, like Reid and McKay), because Concrete 1 is the subject that separates the ones that want to be civil engineers from the ones that WILL BE. *nods* I might not have aced, might not even pass it, but I will, I WILL GET A PRETTY DECENT GRADE. *nods* As far as I know, in US the grades are given by letters (A, B... F?) but over here, it's on a 20 scale.
0 = you're too much of an idiot to deserve to exist
10 = you've flunked the exam, but you were thisclose to actually passing it!
11 = you passed it, just because you were lucky and the teacher felt sorry for you
20 = you are a nerd. what the hell are you doing here?
So, of course, to pass this subject I need my grades to add up to 11. Considering that the midterm is 30% of the grade, the average of the tests (every other friday afternoon) without the lesser grade (meaning, you give four tests and only the highest three make the cut) is the other 30% and the final is 40%, you can see how my midterm is make or break time. The final will kick ass, as usualy, as in you will cry at the end of it, either because you JUST MIGHT MAKE IT or because you're going to be seeing Ottazzi next semester once again.
I have 11 and 13 in the first two grades, there will be an extra test (what we call "Type C", in which you'll have one week to practically design two buildings and in which you will not sleep a wink) so you have the three highest (three out of the four you give on Fridays 2-5pm) and the Tyep C, divided by four and multiplied by 3. There, I will have a decent grade. But the midterm? Well, last semester I got a 6. Yep. That's me. Three hours of exam for a fucking 6. Oh, but please, you must understand, people got 1 o 2. *nods* Concrete 1 is *one of those* subjects. *nods*
So now, I just might get a 10, which will mean I'll go to my final needing either an 8 or a 9 (worse case scenario) and that's FREAKING AMAZING. *takes a deep breath* Finally, I can rest...
For an hour. I have Plannning in construction tomorrow at 8am but I just might not study much. *g*
